That was really great. This will give another positive point for us Filipinos.Amidst political positioning and bickering, an asteroid is named after, and in recognition of, Filipino physicist Dr. Roman Kintanar, former Philippine PAGASA chief. Pinoys can shine in other fields – not only in politics! What can you say about that?

Oh thank you so much for this news. This surely a good break from all the damning news about elections & all. This should be the real cause for Pinoys all over the world to be proud. I can only pray that asteroid does bring ill omen, especially that notable political activities are very much in the rush from much of the world, like the superstitions of old times & if it does i hope its targetting all these corrupt officials & twice on those running for re-election. Again, a great day for Pinoys.

It's really a great honor for the Philippines as well as the Filipinos for an asteroid to be named after a Filipino and that's Kintanar, a very nice name for an asteroid. Thanks a lot for the information.

It is really a great honor for Dr. Roman Kintanar having his name used by the International Astronomical Union (IAU)to christen asteroid no. 6636 as "Kintanar". It is also a big honor to us Filipinos that once more a Filipino has been recognized throughout the world because of his achievements and innumerable contributions. Again, I say I am proud to be a Filipino.
