Do you pick the raisins/sultanas out of your cereal?

I know a lot of people don't like raisins or sultanas. My sons always used to say they looked like rabbit droppings in their breakfast cereal, and would pick them all out, one by one! Do you go to this trouble if you don't like raisins and sultanas? Or would you just avoid foods with them in?

I have always loved raisins since I was a child. I sometimes pick them out of cereals as some are not good but usually I will just eat them. We had grape arbors and my mom would dry the fruit...so homemade raisins!! I still like them if they are fresh..but some are so dry you can't even rehydrate them!!! I really like them in baking spice cookies, oatmeal cookies and cinnamon raisin applesauce cake and muffins..I don't much eat them out of the container..but if they are homemade or really fresh...I could eat a lot!!!!

Mmmm, I love raisins and sultanas too. They make a home-made cakes or cookies taste delicious. I bet your mother's home-made raisins tasted better than any you could buy! Thanks for sharing.

I enjoy the raisins and sultanas in the museli, but my daughter doesn't like them so she picks them out then throws them away, unless I get to her first and then she can put them on my helping giving me a few extra.

Hehe! That's what I would do too, if I got there first! Waste not, want not I say! Thanks.

lol abbey the reason I am cuddly is that I like everything especially the fruit in cereals , I love fruit of any kind , I think the only food I don't like are aubergine and avocado pears , anything else I love . I don't just have it for breakfast , I often have it for lunch or dinner too lol xx

Must be the same reason I'm cuddly then! lol. I like most things too, and unlike you, I just love avocado - yummm! Had one this morning with cottage cheese on a couple of crispbreads. How are you doing with the diet by the way? Hope it's working for you.

I eat muesli every single day for breakfast, I never get fed up with it, I like Alpen, providing it's the original and not the reduced sugar one which tastes vile! I love the raisins and sultanas you get in it, I feel it's an integral part of the muesli, tasty and provides the sugar fix. My ex once said what I had in my bowl looked like the contents of a parrots cage LOL. Rabbit droppings indeed sure made me smile!

Good for you wolfie! I like Alpen too (the original), but we can't get it here in Australia unfortunately. I think the currants and sultanas make it tastier.

I love raisins and most other dried fruits. I almost always put raisins in my cereal and oatmeal.

No I do not pick the raisins and sultanas out of my cereal, as this gives me fibre and everyone should eat what is good for them. If people do not like them then they should buy something else without them.

I heard the other day that they are putting raisins in a separate little bag inside the cereal packet, so you have the choice to use them or not, whatever your taste may be. Personally, I love them in my cereal, and sometimes add more! Thanks for responding Kathy.

No i don't. They are especially sweet when you munch them with the cereals. If not for the raisins, i don't think i will ever eat cereals

Like you, I think the raisins make the cereal more tasty, and give it a nice texture. I love raisins and sultanas anyway! Thanks for your response.
