My child seems to be accident prone. She is forever falling, bumping herself, getting cuts and bruises.I know all children are clumsy but is there such a thing as being too clumsy? Maybe it's just because she always tries to do things in a hurry and doesn't pay attention? Do you have a child like this?

I don't have a child like this, but I was a child like this. Growing up, my nickname was Grace. Unfortunately form me it wasn't just scratches and bruises, it was more like broken bones all the time! When I was six years old, I fell off the monkey bars and I broke my arm. That's what started it all. From then on, I literally broke a bone every year, some years I broke more than one bone. I'm twenty two years old now and I've already broken my right wrist twice, my left wrist three times, my right arm once, my finger once, my right ankle twice, my left ankle once, my leg once and I've dislocated my knee cap once. I've done it all! The most talked about experience was when I was roller blading home with my brother and I tripped over a windshield wiper and broke my wrist. Yes, thats right, a windshield wiper. It was dark out and for some reason there was a windshield wiper lying in the street and I didn't see it, so down I went. Another talked about story was on New Years, I was jumping around the living room with some little kids and when I landed, I landed kind of funny and I ended up breaking my ankle. Oh and the most painful one was when I was standing up from a chair, my boyfriend at the time went to sit on me, and when I fell back into the chair my knee was popped out of place. OUCH! So like I said, I'm Grace!!

My son gets like this when he is tired. It's kind of funny to watch, I know I shouldn't be laughing at him hurting himself, but he'll run back and forth, smack the wall and continue going! I think it's normal, heck I've got bruises on my shins from running into things.

I am very clumsy myself, and I think you are right, it is probably from being in a hurry and trying to go too fast for our bodies =) My daughter is forever walking into walls and bumping into everything =) I just hope I didn't pass it on to my son too =)

Well My step children were the WORST! They walked into everything, tripped over everything and always had bruises and cuts. Then I took them to the eye doctor (which their mother thought was silly at such a young age - but thats another story lol) and they both needed glasses. Although the 3 year old is still clumsy she is much better!
