Internship is usually a period after you finish a course which bridges you before you get employed fulltime. Its kinda supervised work. some companies/institutions pay you a salary or a stipend and that will need to be clarified with the particular institution. usually the certificate of your course completion states that you have also completed an internship, although in some places you get a separate certificate for your internship

Internship for what? It can mean a lot of things depending on what its for. Some internships are paid, some are not. They are usally use to gain experience in the industry. For example, when I decided to become a profesional Scuba diver, I did an intership with my dive shop to gain experience in teaching diving. I did a lot of grunt work, worked with a lot of students, and learned a lot about how the industry worked. I did not get paid for mine with money, but the experience I gaind was well worth the effort. Robert http://rtsweb.homeip.net

The intern is one who works in a temporary position with an emphasis on education rather than merely employment, making it sismilar in some respects to an apprenticeship. Interns are usally college or university student or other young adults. They can also be adults later in life seeking skills foe a new career. i hope , you will be satishfied with this answer.

I think it depends on you country and what is your practice.. You're a student? Well, in our place, if you are a student and you get internship, it means a training and you don't get paid. I did get an internship when i was a student, I joined a company for 4 months working like one of their employees, the school referred me to them. I don't get paid but my meals are free. My other classmates who were referred to other companies don't get free meals but they have transportation allowance. I our case, it is required by our university before graduation, we get a certification from the company after the period of internship that we, in fact, worked there.

i think internship is something related to job during your education course, its like part of your educational course which you have to complete to get the certificate of that degree. Hope this helps, it may differ from country to country and even from university to university, you should check the university website, for the course you are applying to.. bye, Federickp
