What do you think about showbiz celebrities who are trying to make names in politics, Do you think they should stay in making movies? For me, showbiz personalities should not engage themselves in politics--a field they know nothing about and a field so different from their industry which is just a big stage of pretentions. how i wish our celebities should have given a second thought on their decisions to engage in politics.

Maybe not all. As long as they are qualified and well educated people. Some showbiz personalities must not use their popularity as a way to get into politics. They must also be a well educated people. Imagine a leader who can't even express himself in English....How is he going to communicate and understand others? ....Also imagine these people making a law for us....Will they be able to handle these issues. Election is coming. I guess they still have the right, but it's up for us to choose....lol=)

I would always be cautious of a celebrity running for office but do not discount them. You need to listen to a persons ideas , get a feel for their integrity and above all make your own decision. I remember an actor who was president of my country . It was said he was only good because of the people behind him.It turned out he was a great leader and even wrote his own speaches. He changed the world in his lifetime. His name was Ronald Reagen. Keep your eyes and mind open.

every citizen of the Philippines has the right of suffrage and right of repesentations, meaning all wether showbiz or non-showbiz persons may engae themselves to politics but the question mark is their capabilities and abilities on how they can handle all about politics...some of them are taking granted of their popularity to win the race while some of them are really true in serving their fellow constituents like mayor vilma santos, she has a very good service record to lipa.

Yes, i also admire Vilma Santos for her job well done as Mayor of Lipa,Batangas. I am referring to Richard Gomez, Cesar Montano, Manny Pacquiao (to name a few) I mean, it's their first-time to run for politics...well, let them be! =)

I have nothing against celebrities entering politics. But they should really know what they are getting themselves into and they should be really prepared for it. I do not like those celebrities who think that their popularity is enough to make them win in the elections. Do they think that voters are stupid? And if ever they will win, then what will they do? Will they be just dummies whose every decision is made for them by their advisers?

yes, it's true! Their popularity doesn't speak for their credibility ALTHOUGH there are SOME showbiz personalities that are capable of ruling a certain community... Have a nice day!

first, they should prove themselves worthy. they could serve without involving themselves in politics like doing charity work and use their fame and influence for the good of everybody. then maybe when they have gained enough experience and ideas then they can pursue a political career

Yes I think they should stay in the movies! I think this who has the most money is bad too. It has gotten bad for it is all about the money! Well I think that Ron Paul can change that! I strongly agree that those in the movies should stay in the movies!

I dont think theres a problem when a celebrities go for politics as ling as they are sincere, and have a good intention to serve their country and fellow. And as i observed in our country that there are many celebrities who run for their own sake and they take advantage of their popularity and they are not serious and sincere of what they're doing.

Everyone has the right to engage in politics, celebrities included, as long as they know what responsibilities the position they are running for entails. This celebrities are banking on their popularity that is why they are trying their hands in politics. Some of them are just being egged on by other less popular candidates and use them for campaigning. A few celebrities may be sincere in their goal to serve the public. We just hope that these celebrities running for office have the noble reason of really helping the public and not just to gain more clout and power. And that is what the voters need to find out.

There are some celebrities that actually know a lot about politics, or shows some interest in politics. So, i think it depends on those celebrities. Being celebrities, it's not going on forever. Sooner or later, they will be drawn and the spotlight will turn into someone new and fresh. They have to make a second choice of their job and life, before the spotlight that was on them all along, start to fading away. Politics merely just another fields that some celebrities choose. If they can handle this new field, I think it's fine. The problem is, when a celebrity take a turn into politics fields, only because she/he is popular and she/he is craving for more popularity. If a celebrity understands about politics field, and she/he absolutely into it, it's fine with me.

A yes and a no. Yes for celebrities who has got the abilities in good governance and can help many Filipino people who are in need of his service. No for celebrities who are just being pushed to run in a particular position and who has no abilities and skills in taking care of the responsibilities in the position he is running into. Politics is not about popularity, Fame, or Riches, it's about the service you can render the the people and to the country itself.

i think it depends upon who the celebrity is. as long as that celebrity is not corrupt or not tainted, then why not? i think they can manage politics. no nation can rise above its people

In my opinion, I don't think they should run for politics unless they are really qualified to do so. Other celebrities just use their fans and convert them to voters which is very unfair to the citizens of the Phils. because fans become bias and vote for their idols. I think they should let those people who are qualified and learned to run the country.

Well, how do you know they know nothing about politics? Do you know them? Have you talked to them about their political beliefs? Celebrities are people, too, you know. They have just as much right as anyone else does to involve themselves in politics.

It was just my opinion...But i have nothing against celebrities who wants to run for politics. They have the right to enter politics for as long as they have the credibility and distinctive knowledge in running a democratic government like here in the Philippines. PEACE! thank you!

Now that I read what I posted, it sounds awfully rude, and I apologize for that. I didn't mean it that way. I do see what your saying. There's a lot of pros and cons about celebrities in politics, but if they have good intentions, and actually knows what their doing, then I don't really see a problem with it.

for me..it's okay for celebrity be in politics but not that many..and they should be concern for the country and the people...because..we know that some of them are faking it..and all they rely onto is their popularity
