I am not a make up wearer but I wondered how many of you do wear make up and when you wear it. Do you wear it all day? Or just for special times. I never got used to wearing make up. So here again it goes back to my mom never wore make up and she was a beautiful women. Do you think make up enhanses your beauty? I think women have a natural beauty that really doesn't need make up. What do you all think?

I have never worn foundation... People always ask me what kind I wear...but I don't..I do use a light eyeliner and very little mascara as I am a redhead and have very light eyelashes & brows...a little blush when going out for the evening..and a touch of lip gloss/ lip stain...never too made up ..pretty natural..it feels better to me that way!!!

I only really wear make up on special occasions. I work with children and I think it sends a bad message to go to work plastered in make up, but for an evening out or a wedding or something its nice to use a little bit to bring out all the best bits of the face.

As a guy I don't wear make up. My wife and daughter wear very little make up. I think that women have a natural beauty. I also think that a little make up can enhance that beauty. But too much make up is worse than too little or none at all!

I agree with you. I have seen women that have gone overboard with make up and it looks really bad. If make up is put on right I do think it enhaunces the beauty. I don't wear any make up at all. I never have. Not any reason. Just never got into applying it.

personally I wear makeup every day but i sell mary kay so it goes with the job. i think make up does enhance your natural beauty. even before i sold mary kay i wore eye liner and mascara to bring out my eyes. when i put make up on i feel better about myself. and if you feel better about your self then you are a happier person.

As far as your job is selling Mary Kay than of course people would think it is strange that you are selling something that you don't use. You have to show you have faith in your product or else you would not get many sales.

Oh how I dream of having that natural beauty or that gorgeous olive skin that requires no makeup! Yes, I wear makeup daily. I feel naked without it. I started wearing makeup during my late high school years when people started asking me if I was sick. This was happening daily! I was that pale. Over the years, I have developed a ruddiness to my cheeks and now full blown rosacea. I feel the need to even out the skintone on my face. My eyelashes are blond so it appears that I have none unless I wear mascara! I just look more like a real human with a touch of makeup! I have recently switched to using mineral makeup as it is supposedly better for the rosacea and also I wanted a more natural, non-madeup (is that a word?) look. I wish I was comfortable without makeup, as I despise having to go through the ritual each morning. But, I am just too self-conscious not to!

There is nothing wrong with make up. I just was curious about how many women here wear make up and the reason behind it. If you feel more comfortable with make up on that is fine. Make up put on with class is absolutely nothing wrong with.

I was just having this conversation with my best friend when I read this. I never used to be a make up wearer, but I am not. I just like adding colors to my face. To me, it's like painting, and I enjoy it. I only wear it when people are going to see my face. I know, that sounds silly, but I don't like to look like a frazzled mom when I go out. I don't want to reflect a poor image of myself when I am carrying around a baby.

That doesn't sound silly. What you are wanting to do is feel good about yourself. That doesn't mean that you are not pretty either. That just means you want to do something special to enhanse yourself. Thanks for the response.

I never wear makeup at home or out with my children.I love the natural look the best. But when I go out in the evening or to a work related function I always put make up on.It seems to be the social status around here that if you are not made up you are not dressed up.So yes I think there is a natural beauty about a women that tends to get lost in our culture.

I too, am not a makeup wearer. My sister on the other hand, won't go out without a full face of it. I wear it on special occasions such as a Wedding or a special night out - like for my birthday or something. I feel just a little bit applied right can really enhance a womans beauty. My sister suffers from Eczema and to that extent is very self conscious about her looks. She actually had mom go up to School in high school and explain to the principal why she wore makeup and why she wasn't going to stop wearing makeup even though it was against the school rules. I don't know what was said, but she never got into trouble again. To this day, she won't go out the door without wearing makeup. Her Eczema isn't that bad anymore, but the first little patch sends her into a complete panic.

I don't wear make up myself but there is nothing wrong with it. I thought I'd ask here because there are so many women that do. I think a women should let their natural beauty show. I have seen a lot of women that they have put on the make up in such a way they look bad. They go overboard with the make up. Thanks for your response. Have a great day/evening.

Being a male, I don't wear make up at all but here's my views on make up anyway. I prefer women not wearing make up at all. Natural beauty is the best one can show. I understand some wearing make up to hide away a pimple or a rash but these things happen to everyone at some point in their life so there's no need to hide it. I sometimes see the odd women wearing very thick make up and it destroys their looks. If you have to wear make up then do it at minimal amount. That's my opinion anyway.

It is good to get a males' point of view. Women do go overboard and I agree with you. They should let their natural beauty show through. My sister had made the comment to me one time that she never leaves the house without her makeup on. She is a beautiful women without make up on. She said she didn't look good without it on. I told her to take a good look in the mirror. That she didn't need anything on her face. So at least in some cases I think they don't like what they look like. Thank you for your response. It was appreciated getting a male's point of view.

I do not wear make up. My mom wears lipstick (oh, need to buy her some!) My sister learned to put on make up from her girlfriends, but I don't think she does it much anymore. The new roomie does it everyday, spends an hour doing her hair, putting on make up - I don't think it changes her looks any but she does.

I think makeup is a woman's personal choice. It can be used enhance what is naturally there. Sometimes I wear it; other times I don't. It depends on how I'm feeling and where I'm going. There are times when a little bit of "polish" doesn't hurt. But I don't think it should be worn for anyone but the woman wearing it. If she feels wearing it makes her look a little better, then great.

Well, I do wear make up but not a lot though, just a light foundation, blush on and lipstick, nothing fancy. I wear it everyday when I go to work. I think I'm beautiful with or without make up but I also agree that make-up enhances your natural beauty. Like, I need foundation because I have really oily and uneven complexion and I use blush on because I have pale skin and I use lipstick to brighten my lips. Though I don't really like to see women who wear such thick make-up. I always say, less is best.

I wear make-up every single day. It's part of my routine to apply it after I have showered and dried my hair. However, I spend no more than a few minutes applying my foundation, blush, mascara and lipstick. That's all I need to have a finished, polished look for the day. Even natural beauties need a little help.
