There was this powerful Philipino woman who, using the power of the people, over threw a man Marcus in the 1980s. Is she still alive, what does she do today? I love the woman power in Philipines, even as I write today, Mrs Aroyo, a woman is in full charge-i hope women of other countries are not just sleeping?

oops, sorry about that. That was Amelda Marcos. Humble apologies for my lack of international knowledge. Amelda was the wife of the ousted Marcos and is alive and well, loving her shoes.

Thank you for your interest in Philippine politics, academic2. Mrs. Aquino has remained in the background of politics. She is not as active as before but she participates especially when human rights is involved. She is probably busy with helping her son Noynoy Aquino, who is running for a senate seat this May. And she is eagerly awaiting her grandchild's birth (with Kris Aquino).

By the way, where are you now? Why don't you know that Mrs. Aquino is still alive and active in many things? Mrs. Aquino was just accidentally made as President of the Philippines because Enrile and Ramos had no other alternative. There was a plot to kill Marcos but Marcos learned of such and so Enrile got afraid and he asked Ramos if he was going with him and that started the EDSA revolution which was not actually. Mrs. Arroyo got the Presidency from Erap because she was then the Vice President but actually she was not supposed to be President. Then in the last Presidential elections, she used her machinery for fraud deceiving the Filipino people. Shall we admire women who are opportunists? They would not have been Presidents of the Republic of the Philippines if circumstances happened fairly and righteously.

Now I tell you with great delight that Mrs. Corazon Aquino is still alive! Mrs. Aquino had laid low of Philippine politics but I believe her opinion is still greatly valued in this arena. She is now in taking good care of her very famous daughter Kris, who is now pregnant. It feels great for me that you have found the Filipinas highly empowered - well, they really are nowadays. However, President Arroyo is now greatly criticized because of issues on corruption and dishonesty.

She is very much alive and is still part of philippine politics. Her influence has somehow faded in the arena but she is still being respected in politics. Right now I believes she is inclined to the opposition party and is not supportive of the present government since the present government has some questionable performances in the past election. Although she was part of the causes why these present government is in power. She was present when the second EDSA revolution came and toppled a supposed corrupt government.Mrs Aquino was present and was supporting the incumbent president. But during the time when the present president decided to run again for president. She suddenly became distant with the present administration especially when electoral fraud were exposed and was not resolved for some unknown reasons.
