I never new they had a city underground. I just figured the employees eat where the customers ate. It is interesting to learn that there is a world under the fantacy world that every child loves. It sounds like a mystery. Why would you have a city beneath a city?

from what i've learned he didn't want people to see the behind the scenes stuff so they woulnd't be dissaponted with all the magic of disney. they have people getting reading in their costumes down there and they didn't want people to see two mickey's at the same time becuase it's not realistics. kids beleive these people are real and he didn't want to ruin anything for them. he was a smart man

k i finally found something. it's only for people over the age of 16 and not every day so call ahead of time. they don't want to scare kids be seeing 2 mickey's at the same time and so on. they also say this. here is an official tour that can be taken by any Guest over the age of 16 for a cost of (the last time I checked) $65. This cost is in addition to Park Entrance. In the Magic Kingdom, go to Guest Relations in City Hall and ask for the Keys To The Kingdom Tour. This tour is NOT given every day, so call ahead to book a day. If this is your first visit to the Magic Kingdom, don't take this tour. Spend at least two days just enjoying yourself and experiencing the Magic. Also, be forewarned that this will forever change the way that you look at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. It's like pulling apart a flower to see how it grows. You end up knowing more, but in your mind you will never look at a flower the same way.

Yes, there is a one-square mile city underground at Disney World for the Disney staff making it the largest underground city anywhere in the world. I believe one of the channels (either the Discovery or History Channel) did a story about the underground city. As to whether or not there were ever tours, there may have been, but I don't believe that they are widely publicized and I'm not sure if they are still given.
