Goats, that is my answer. So tell me, what is the last animal YOU petted?

First, and I shouldn't have to say this, but those of you who like to get ribald, this is a nice, sweet discussion about animals, nothing more. So Saturday I spent a lot more time with my dad than I ever do. We spent most of the day together, which never happens. But he went to visit some people and one of his friends lived quite a bit ways into the country. We pulled up in his driveway and I saw two cats, and a little further ways into the driveway I saw two fenced in goats. I was so excited! I petted them and they licked my hand. And it was so unlike a cat or dog lick, and it was sweet. Don't worry all you germ phobes, I had hand sanitizer and I washed my hands as soon as I saw a faucet. :) So tell me, other than a cat or dog, which animal was the last one you petted?

Wow I dont know. I thought this was about anything I petted. I think I pet some sheep or a pig last summer. That was the last time too. But wow goats are fun too.

Besides my cats the last animal I petted was a dagu(not sure on the spelling). It is a member of the rabbit family but looks more like a guinea pig with a long tail. They are cute and one of my friends has one.

Oddly enough, I dreamt of chicks last night... they were underfoot in my friend's van. There may even have been four of them. What is she going to do with the chicks once they start growing feathers and the kids grow tired of them?

The last animal I petted is a hermit crab. They may not look like they have a lot of emotions but they really do. They react to touch and movement.

My kids used to have hermit crabs. They were fun, and we used to always buy them new shells to live in, and watch to see which ones they would choose.

I petted a cow. My in-laws raise them, and I go visit the cows everytime I go to their house. I used to have a pet goat. He was nice when he was little, but when he reached maturity, he became really nasty, and started trying to attack everyone. He was never abused, so I wondered why he turned like that, and someone told me that that's the way male goats were. We had to find someone to take him, because I was afraid he would hurt one of the kids.

That's unfortunate, but I bet most male goats are like that. These weren't, and they were fairly big, but I wonder if they had reached maturity.

It was iguana, in the pet shop. My husband insisted not to get another pet because we already have a cat, but I wanted one so we went to the nearest pet shop. I've seen people having iguana as pet but never touched it myself before. The skin is so coarse from head to tail, it looks like a mini version of mythical dragon. I didn't get it as pet, I think my cat wouldn't get along with it too well :)

Well, maybe not exactly "petted," but the last non-cat, non-dog type animal I touched was a goose-- but that has been a few months, since before I moved. Where we used to live, there was a creek at the end of the yard, and all manners of (more or less) domestic birds made their home there. Among them, three white geese, one of which was pretty friendly... as well as eternally curious. The one goose would periodically find its way INside the fenced flower beds, so I'd have to remove him to keep the flowers from getting destroyed-- geese can be VERY destructive to plants. So I'd pick up the goose-- usually protesting loudly-- and carry him back to the creek.

Fish. I love fish, especialy sharks. I have caught many sharks and petted them, admired them and released them. My biggest is only 50kg but I am trying to better that, when I get opportunities. To me they are the most beautifull animal.

Hi There! I got a small pet from my daughter's gerbil this afternoon. I fed her a piece of corn through the bars of her cage and got to pet her that way. She is a pretty little thing.

I'm sorry I'm just now getting back to you. You are right, we do most definitely have to watch Wilbur. I am fixing to upload a picure of Little Bit in just a few minutes so you can see her if you want to. I've finally figured out how to import pictures from my new camera. I'm still waiting for my roses to bud so I can take some pictures of them. I bought me a clematis plant Saturday while in town. I'm hoping my husband will feel like planting it for me either tonight or tomorrow.

I have a bunny, I pet her every day. Besides my bunny the last animal I pet would be a goat and a horse, they were at a fair that I went to last year.

Dog was going to be my answer until saw the last line. That is the usual animal I come into contact with. The last other type of animal beyond dogs and cats would be a hamster. I was in charge of making sure the poor little thing stayed alive while my friends were on a holiday, so tha would be the last one for me!

It is so long ago but it could have been a horse, a lamb or even a goat. We have often cats and dogs around us so it is not so often we get a chance to pet other animals unless we live near a farm or a zoo.

Do frogs count? Other than my cats and dogs, that's the last animal I had my hands on. I was at my in laws, and we could hear these frogs in the pool out in the back yard. So we decided to "go frogging". We caught two of them, but one got away. I love playing with them, even though I'm sure they aren't too thrilled about it. LOL

I love goats, they're such lovely animals (for the most part, heh). Once a little baby goat fell asleep in my arms, it was the cutest thing ever and I was so touched that the little one felt safe enough with me. Apart from my cat, I think the last animal I petted was a horse last year. It could have been a baby cow, I'm not too sure anymore.

I can't remember what the last animal other than cats and dog was that I petted. Could have been a llama or pony or lamb, something found at a petting zoo.

A bunny rabbit! One of the schools where I teach computers, has a huge pet bunny rabbit who is as sweet as he can be. I love when the teacher takes him out to play. He's as big as a large cat, but is very affectionate. That's the last animal I petted besides my dogs.

Ah, interesting question. This will be an easy one for because the last animal that I've petted was my pet dog. But you probably want to know the animal that I petted before that. Well before that I've petted a baby rabbit on a farm. I was surprised that although that rabbit lived outside, its fur was the cleanest white that I've ever seen. I washed my white shirts all the time, but its brown compared to this rabbit's fur.
