Okay, next month, my job is having a big camping trip with employees and all. it's a small admission fee and I can bring whoever I want, but the problem is I never been canoing. i could just do the camping thing, but canoing just might be a good experience for me. What do you guys think? Should I just do the camping or try the canoing? Any advice for those with experience?

This kind of depends on the sort of job you have, if the trip is required, and what the others going on the trip are like. If It was me then I probably wouldn't go at all or just go for one night of camping. If you don't mind the other people that you work with seeing you doing something for the very first time, then try the canoeing. Sometimes it is best to avoid situations like this around people that you work with. Many times it is best to keep work place people out of your leisure time. Only you know how things might affect you life at the office if the people see you in this situation.

it's not required, it's more like a get-a-way. i'm still contemplating if I want to go or not. but i do understand what you are saying and it is some good advice to consider. i was thinking along them same route, but then another part of me doesn't want to miss out on something new. there isn't a fear of canoeing, i'm just wondering how is it like before i step on the boat.

Canoeing is a blast and it really isnt hard. I think you should go for it and have a new adventure. We go on atleast one canoe trip every year and we even take our daughter who is now 9 but was about 6 on our first trip. Just wear your bathing suit in case you tip and remember no sudden sharp moves and you will be fine. The paddling is quite easy and relaxing.
