I am just curious to know that while responding to discussions in mylot, do you first choose those discussions that are easy to answer you think? Or you choose discussions with very serious topics? I generally go to discussions that are related to some problems that my fellow mylotters are facing. Then I see which discussions just attracts me. It may be very serious or not so serious at all. what is your trend?

i look for intresting topics in new discussions.. and i don't usualy reply to personal, gossip or negative comments.. its natural that i will only reply to topics where i have something to say.. and that i have knowledge about or i am intrested in..what the hell will i say if i dont know anything about the topic anyways....

I usually start from top to bottom. If I can answer their questions, I do answer them and add a little suggestions to it. And if I have experienced some of their topics I answer them too.

I am an entrant to mylot today, i fully endorse your view that discussions on problems that fellow mylotters are facing should be on priority and then the next in would be those that would be of individual interest

When replying to discussions, I always select those that interest me and those that I can share a lot about. I really don’t reply based on how easy or how serious discussions are.

I think sometimes I do tend to go with the questions that I think are easy to answer at first, and then when I get into the swing of things, I might decide to tackle some of the more serious ones. It sort of depends on my mood too I think, cause sometimes I feel like having a deep discussion, and other times I just don't really feel up to it.

I respond to discussions from my friends which are received via email notifications. Easy ones, hard ones, challenging ones all I try to respond except those I have absolutely no idea what it is about, and controversial ones which I definitely avoid. I am thankful for my friends who posted discussions. I do not pick and choose and I cannot afford to :P

I don't even know what they are really asking in some discussions. Sometimes I don't think even the writer knows. So I tend to go with the ones that ask straight forward questions. If I see very long discussion starters, I just ignore it.. I don't want to sit here and wade through it.

I usually respond to a discussion that got my attention big time. But, mostly I answer all of my friends's discussions.

I do respond to those discussion which are easy to answer because those are the topics I can easily relate to. Those discussions have some relations to my life or those that have the same sentiments as mine. I don't respond to those that I don't exactly now anything about. I am not into starting discussions because I can't think of anything to write about but when I saw the topics that is when ideas come to my mind.

I must admit that I rarely find a serious topic worth replying to. A quick scan of recent threads includes several Christian threads about rapture nonsense, Wiccans and spells, posts about washing your hair every day, someone describing their babies first food. I went through the first three pages of hot topics and there's nothing there much above a high school conversation. But then this is a site for the general public and not advanced academics.
