What would you choose to do when you are bored.

You have no work to do, There are no one around for you to talk to, Its a week end and you are alone, You switch on the television and find the programs boring. We may get bored in our day to day life and we would like to some thing to just stay away from that boredom. You may have many things to do which can kill some time and keep you away from getting bored or to get rid of that boredom.
When i am bored i switch on the television and browse to find some music channels. At the same time i will start going through all the SMS messages which my friends have sent to me. At any instance if i feel i am alone and the television programs are boring then i will switch on my computer to work on my future projects. Since i am a web designer apart from working as a Software Engineer i like to do some experimentation on websites. I talk to my friends who are close to me since they wont get me bored.
Now its your turn to share your experiences, What will you do in your spare time? What things you like to do when you are completely bored? Sharing your experiences would be appreciated.

I think it is not a problem for me when I am really bored, in fact I seldom get bored now since I joined mylot 2 months ago, I am even getting addicted on it, when I am at home, in addition to watching television, or listening to the radios, I will be on mylot writing and replying, I find the discussions so interestin which can make me busy for the whole day.

to be honest, it is very rare that I get bored, there is always something to do on the computer. I play on my lot, write stories and books and run an e-zine.
then I look at tv and do housework in between.
Sometimes I will talk on the phone, but I am not a big phone talker like I used to be.
And when the good weather finally gets here (it is snowing in montreal) I play on going out for walks.

My "down" time when there aren't absolutes to be done usually includes reading, journaling but most of all exercising...when I am bored and can't find anything to capture my attention these are the things I rely on!! If I have already worked out for the day then I would search my book shelves for the area I have reserved for "new reads"..and if for some reason that wouldn't interest me then I'd probably get down and dirty ( in the garden) ...there is always something to be done in that area and I love it!! A good dig in the dirt and then some moving container plants around on my sundeck and re- arranging the whole layout is a sure boredom buster!!!

Well, acturally this happens quite often in my life. For now, I am a postgraduate, and has to do researches all the day, that makes me mad. When I feel bored, I prefer to go out and have a walk, maybe at the same time listening to some pleasant music. To go out and breathe the fresh air makes me feel calm. Besides this, I also resort to the internet to deal with my bore. I may play some games on the internet with my boyfriend, that's fun.
Everyone has his own way to get rid of bore. The point is to choose the way that suits you, and try to enjoy yourself.

its the same issue with everyone these days what to do when you get bored? when i get bored during the weekends all alone
at home i watch cartoons,movies,sports..read books,callup friends,arrange parties,plan out for my future prospects,
complete my projects and learn new things to improve myslef..
i like to meet new poeple, make friends and listen to music..
the best thing i like to do is meditate and exercise i am sure everyone will agree with me..it will keep my mind steady and make my soul calm by reducing pressure..whats you say on this ? i am sure you will agree (hopefully)!

During boring days, I take a long shower and sleep. There are times when I surf the internet and answer every freakin' discussion on mylot, hahaha! Playing with my 2 year old son always takes away the boredom because he's easily amazed and laugh a lot with every face I make.

I like to watch my favorite series on TV when I’m bored. Or even there are nothing interesting on TV, I would watched my DVD collection of my favorite TV series so I’ll have a movie marathon.
One thing I also do when I’m bored is do digital scrapbook of the pictures of my daughter. I love doing this because I get to organized my daughter’s hundreds of pictures, at the same time it’s a good way to spend your time wisely.
Another that I do when I’m bored is I play my favorite games on the computer like Dinner Dash and Mystery Case files series.

When it gets really boring, I do the next best thing and that is sleeping! I'd rather sleep on a boring weekend. I need to energize as I don't get too much sleep during weekdays. Sometimes, I go internet surfing or doing layouts in Photoshop. I could also go out and do some window shopping alone and look for cheap but fabulous finds. That would bust a boring day for me. :)

Oh my friend, I wish I will have a day like that. I was so busy that I tend to forget how to breathe anymore. As a matter of fact, I need to catch up on a lot of my friend's discussions, yours included. I have to comment back on my previous threads and have to submit an article on another site. Its blowing my bunny mind, LOL!!!

If I am bored(which I usually have no time to be) I will either read, do something on the computer, or work on lesson plans for school.
Betweeen all the work I do though, I usually dont find time to be bored. There is always laundry to be done, clothes to be put away or something.

It's good that you're able to keep yourself occupied with things that you enjoy. As the old cliche goes, "idle hands are the devil play things" In my spare time, when I have nothing to do at all, I get online and look for ways that I can make some money. Currently all I'm thinking about right now is how to make money without breaking the law. I'm fueled by my desire to to raise enough money so I can buy a new laptop. So this really keeps me busy. And now since I've just discovered myLot, I'm spending a large portion of my time here, hoping to earn some money.

well, I am new in here... I just can't explain it, but I never find myself getting bored,.. There is always something to do.. hehe but not really... sometimes I get bored ;D. Even now I was getting bored.. I found this site... hope its nice.. :)

i used to read. like last weekend, i was totally bored and ive got no book to grab so what i did was write. every fridays i see to it that i have a book borrowed from someone or bought froma bookstore or borrowed from our school library.
sometimes im used to music. i download a lot of music, if i have something new in my mind, the next time im online, i already have it so i wouldn't get bored with my playlist.
basically im a home buddy so anything has to be just done inside my room. going out like go to bars, may happen once in a month or sometimes never in a month. ive been there before and i kinda got bored with that routine, seeing same party people every weekend.
im not a Mall hopper so it's not that often that i visit Malls here in town.

Hi buddy i too a graphic designer get bored with my monotonous work and i will switch on my creative mind to do some morphing stuffs with my friends photograph and send it to them thro email ....Sometimes i will go with my imagination over few moments or embarassments which i thought i could have avoided those...and after that you will lose your boring sense and get back to your normal work.I will make calls to my close friends and catch whoever is free and if not i get my focus on any old magazines or books...Few little tricky things can change your boring tendency...Pinch yourself and you will feel the pain to forget you get bored or repeat any sentence or word again and again until you fed up ...i use to did those...I will bite my nails as thats my habit i cant avoid it ...

well, there are not enough hours in the day for me to be bored. I work graveyard shift, go home do things, sleep, wake up, do family stuff, watch tv, surf the net (mostly at work) or read. Then back to work. I have a lot to do and very little time to do it in. I am rarely bored.

When I'm bored, mostly I will enjoy the boring situation. Sleeping, being lazy, do nothing until I feel bored with boring condition also :D Usually after that my body and brain will ask me to going somewhere and starting to create some ideas to solve the boring condition.
