I was raining this morning when I got up at 4 AM and was still raining when Daughter left for work at 6.20. I know she will be careful but there are so many idiots out there that forget that the oil and sand that are on our roads get slick when it rains. We get so little rain here that when it does rain the roads are way to slick for some to gun their cars to go thru a yellow light and then when they do gun it they fishtail or slide right on thru the yellow or red light ,even when theygo to slow down throwing on the brakes is not A good idea they tend to slide that way too. And I figure alot of these people have never drven in snow Or they would realize that the rain can be worse.

I love rain, but I agree it make me scared when i have to drive in weather like that. My boyfriend and me travel by motocycle in Summer time and I get very scared when it starts raining on our way.

You are so right. I hate that slicky oily surface on the asphalt when it rains. It is a hazard to say the least. You would think they would come up with some other solution, since road crews know how dangerous it can be. I hope your daughter made it to work okay. Blessings to you.

Hey LKo12 I'm sure it's just bothering you that you can't be in control of the situation-I know you trust your daughter to be a defensive driver or else you wouldn't have taken her to get her license. BTW Being from down south I hate driving on slick roads & do try to stay off unless necessary. +'s 2 U :D

Rain definitely can be worse to drive in. I know it is such a hard thing to have your child driving. Even if she is an excellent driver, you worry about the other drivers on the road. My son is 18 and I worry every time he leaves the house. My other son is 15 and can't wait to get his liscense. I wonder if there is ever a time that moms stop worring about their children....probably not.
