How many times do you brush your teeth every day?

Do you ever miss a day? Tell me the truth. I usually brush my teeth three times a day, and i always ask myself if this is too much. I do not know where i got the habit of doing so, so many times a day, because my mother always taught us to brush our teeth when we wake up, and then again before we go to sleep. What about you? Do you think it can cause damage to brush the teeth more then twice a day?

On weekdays, I brush my teeth twice a day while having my morning shower before going to work and in the night before I goes to bed. On weekend, at time I will forgot to brush my teeth as I do not shower in the morning.

liranlgo, i brush my teeth two times daily, without failing. i am quite disciplined in that regard. i do it more out of habit and missing any one time will make me indisposed with nagging pains in my head!! my mother attinutes it to my maniac nature though. but, trust me, i kind of feel uncomfortable with proper brushing through my teeth. and guess what, i rinse my mouth with listerine and mouth washes when i indulge in more sweets or feasty treats. i have heard that brushing with hard, old brush do damage teeth and jaws. so it's advisable to ue proper, soft brushes with toothpastes (preferably surgarfree for diabetics). now, that was quite a teethy post!!

Lol mimpi, i just realized it an hour after i opened it. I am used to brsh my teeth with a hard brush, if i use a soft one, i feel like nothing is done, a nasty habit i guess, but i will pay more attention to it now:)

You appear to be very health consious. Great! Although the Doctors say that we should briush our teeth after every meal, but it may not be practically possible, due to one reasons or another. I think we must brush twice a day. Before going to bed and early in the morning. If you go for three times a day, I think it is not bad either. I do not think, it can damage your teeth. I do it twice in a day.

I actually brush mine 4 times a day AND wash with Listerine mouthwash. It doesn't damage your teeth at all. When I got pregnant with my daughter, I got gingivitis (an early form of gum disease) I was told to brush my teeth 4 times a day after every meal, and to wash with mouthwash too. Within 3 weeks, my teeth and gums were healthy again, and the dentist told me that while it's not essential to brush four times a day, it's not harmful either. Ever since then, I've brushed and rinsed with mouthwash 4 times a day. I want to be sure that my teeth and gums are healthy.

I never miss a day. It is a sin against god... I usualy brush my teeth twice a day, unless I sleep during the day, and then I brush before and after. As a rule, before and after sleep is the time for me to brush my teeth. I never miss a day, because I hate going to the dentist... it can't be too bad, three-four times a day. If you do it moer often, you might get poisoned from your tooth paste... (yes, it is not so healthy in high dosage...)

Hey! I usually brush twice a day. Once in the morning or whenever I get up, and once right before bed. I have one cavity ~ but it's from when I was a little kid. I haven't gotten one since then, so I must be doing at least a decent job! You actually *Can* brush your teeth too much. If you brush too much, or *up and down* instead of *around and around*, you can cause Erosion of your gums. Basically, you're brushing your teeth right out of your head!!! The teeth look bigger & bigger until they literally *Fall Out* of your mouth! So do be careful. But on the other hand... my ex only brushed once a day. And he had LOTS and LOTS of cavities. And his teeth chipped easily & he had some root canals, etc. And my husband's teeth are too far-gone to save. So just be careful. Dentists always told me to brush twice a day. And to floss once a day. But if you feel you need to more, that's okay. Just don't brush too hard. Use a "gentle" toothbrush. (This is verrrry important!) Anything done in excess can be bad. So just do a good job & don't get carried away with it! Happy Brushing! Gwen *****

Three times a day! Wow you are good, I only brush mine once a day unless I'm going out in the evening, which is very rare nowadays, I don't see the point in brushing them in a morning if I am going to eat breakfast straight away, I hate my cereal or muesli tasting of mint LOL! No I only brush them once at night before bed and mouthwash too. If you brush too often you can actually wear away the enamel.

I brush my teeth twice a day, in the morning and at night before bed. I don't think three times each day is too much though, because they usually say to brush your teeth after every meal, so that's probably a good amount. :)

I think you are actually doing the right thing by brushing your teeth 3 times a day. I was always taught that is the best thing to do for your teeth. I brush mine twice a day. I brush when I wake up in the morning and before I go to bed at night. I know I should be brushing them during the day after lunch but I always get busy and forget.

Supposed to be twice a day, miss?? Of course -lol- Brush your teeth three times a day I think it's ok, as far your teeth is not sensitive teeth. Usually people also brush 3 times a day, morning, after lunch, and before sleep.

Twice a day and that's all you really need to do. Anything more can severely irritate your gums. This came directly from my own dentist. I'm always amazed how much this subject comes up here. It's nice to know though that people care about their dental hygiene.

Honestly, there have been days when I've forgotten to brush my teeth, but I do scrape my tongue every morning, so as to get that funky taste out of it, and usually rinse with Listerine each night before bed, so it's not a total loss. :)

I dont think it can cause damage to brush more then twice a day. We are suppose to brush after ever meal. But I brush in the morning and before I go to bed at night. And sometimes in the afternoon if Im going out some where.

I never miss a day of brushing my teeth. I couldn't stand that. I brush my teeth at least 3 times a day also. I can't stand to have food stuck to my teeth and I also smoke so that doesn't help much either. I brush every time I eat or snack on something. I am trying to take care of my teeth and I do not want to get any cavities or lose any of them right now. I want to keep my real teeth in good condition as long as I can without having to buy dentures. I don't think it causes any damage to brush your teeth more than once per day.

I always brish my teeth twice a day. Once in the morning when i get up an dthe second time when i have had my dinner. And i make sure that i dont eat anything after i brush my teeth after the supper. I have been into this practice since my childhood. And i am happy that this was inculcated in me by my parents.

when i was a kid, i brushed my teeth 2 twice a day, which is when i wake up and when i'm going to sleep. But today, i brush my teeth once a day that is when i wake up in the morning. I think brush our teeth more than twice a day won't damage it. It will be more clean and less bacteria in it.
