I just gave a long answer but that just disappeared. Basically, buying debts is legal but they can't force you to pay anything if it's in dispute. As for the time, I think there is a certain time before which they can call but I think it might be 8 rather than 9.

If you get Child Tax Credit but not Working Tax Credit then you definitely can. However, I don't know about the other way round or if you get both. It might depend on how much you get. If you are entitled then you should have had an NHS card thingy from Tax Credits. If you call their helpline (which you should find on the HMRC or Directgov website) they should be able to tell you.

I'd wonder why but really it depends on the people. I know it's unlikely to get a mature 18 year old man but there might be one and I do know that there are a lot of immature 30 something year old women so maybe they'd be compatible.

Similarly to the answer I gave to your opposite question, I wouldn't think too much of it. This makes more sense than the other way round due to the fact that the woman is likely to be as mature as the man! I guess you kept all the recepits and whatever. So, can you photocopy receipts and send them to prove you paid because if you paid the full balance plus a charge then they are only charging charges and even if they dispute whether they can charge charges, they can't dispute that they can't charge charges when there is no balance.

It takes as long as they feel like taking. Can be up to 3 months before they contact you. They should get in touch with you but if you're worried about it, contact them and check on where your application is. If you nag them enough, they usually get things done a bit quicker.
