richiemogwai started a new discussion called Do you think that all the recent earthquakes and typhoons are interrelated? in beach.
Beach countries have been recently attacked by nature, wreaking havoc on these countries' citizenry as well as tourist beachcombers. It almost seems like Mother Nature has a score to settle with tourism and the affluent lifestyle. Typhoons in Southeast Asia have killed 32 in Vietnam and 246 in the Philippines according to the Reuters news agency. Meanwhile, Ground Report, a citizen journalism h...

richiemogwai responded to a discussion called Texting While Driving! in life.
Texting while driving is really so dangerous, I'd like to warn everybody. I know that there are some really natural multitaskers out there, and I'm not one of them. But you never know when an accident will happen or is just waiting to happen. Hence you can avoid it by not texting while driving. I just don't know why some people can't wait to read a text message until they're somewhere else asid...

richiemogwai responded to a discussion called CSI: Las Vegas: A bow tie?! Spoiler Alert if you haven't watched Oct.1 episode in csi.

I'm just so happy to see Sarah again, she looks much more beautiful and more relaxed. I remember when she was full time CSI, she didn't even have time to comb her hair, or worry about her outfit. Now she looks glamorous. I hear that Grissom might return, but that will be too weird, considering he said not too long ago that he was going to take a sabbatical of some sort. If so, that is one of th...

richiemogwai responded to a discussion called Have you ever ate frog legs? in questions & answers.
Great question, the last time I ate frog legs was when my brothers, sisters and myself went to Point Pelee National Park, in Windsor, Canada. We had a great time there so we got hungry after touring the park. Then we saw this restaurant just outside the park. I remember the restaurant is named Laura, but I couldn't believe that they served frog legs here, maybe the frogs were caught from swamps...

richiemogwai responded to a discussion called 1st try at homemade Apple Pie in cooking.
Oh how sweet! I wish I was there with you because I go gaga over freshly baked Apple Pie. There is one at McDonald's every morning, but it's not as good. Your Apple Pie looks beautiful and definitely yummy. If only you can send a slice in the mail for me, but I guess that's not possible. So all I can do is dream on and imagine the taste, but thanks for sharing.

richiemogwai responded to a discussion called Steak Favs in steak.

I always like my steak to be medium rare. The best steak to me is 14 ounce Rib Eye Steak with mushroom and mashed potato. This is what I always order at The Keg Steakhouse and Bar, which to me makes the best steak in the world.

richiemogwai responded to a discussion called CRT or LCD Monitor in computer.
I will always pick an LCD monitor over a CRT or cathode ray tube monitor because I just can't stand the latter, which is the older technology. I say thank God the LCD monitor has been invented. My Sony VAIO notebook has an LCD monitor and I can work on this notebook for as long as I like. But I cannot say the same for my old iMac computer, which has a CRT screen. My eyes always end up hurtin...

richiemogwai commented in a discussion called Anyone wants to visit Vancouver, Canada anytime soon? in traveling.

Thanks for your response. Anytime you have any questions on Vancouver just let me know. I have posted a lot of details about the city (attractions, cheap stores, cheap eats) at GroundReport.com so you may want to go there on your free time, I guess you can find me there if you search by name Richie Mogwai. I just love my city, and I want to live here for the rest of my life, because it's just g...

richiemogwai commented in a discussion called Anyone wants to visit Vancouver, Canada anytime soon? in traveling.
Thanks for your response. I have to say that it's not really expensive out here, if you can find one or two people to share an apartment with. Food can be rather cheap, too, if you know where to go or shop for groceries. I have more details on that at GroundReport.com if you want to know more. Just search for the articles of Richie Mogwai, of course that's me. Any questions about Vancouver, jus...

Which french fries do you like the most, McDonald's, Wendy's or other?

Personally, I hate McDonald's French fries, especially since the crew shoves even the smallest, slightly burned bits in the carton pouch. I know that it may be the way McDonald's cuts the potatoes,...

I like watching CSI Miami a lot, but Horatio turns me off, how about you?

I love watching CSI Miami. I think it's a bankable spin-off of the CSI franchise, albeit more sophisticated and stylish. For example, no actor in CSI Miami would be caught wearing Grissom's...

Anyone wants to visit Vancouver, Canada anytime soon?

Vancouver is my home, I have lived here for almost two years now, and I've never thought of relocating ever since. I'm close to Mediterranean-style beaches like Wreck Beach, Kitsilano (one of top ten...

Do you shop at a thrift store to save money in these tough times?

I shop at thrift stores a lot these days just to make ends meet. For the uninitiated, a thrift store sells second-hand items that somebody donated. It does help save the environment, because...
