taraelocin responded to a discussion called is it a choice to be single or not? in single.
For some people is is a choice. But I think for most people it isn't. They just didn't find the right person. Quite a few of my friends are single and it's not because they want to be. But they are looking for Mr. Perfect and won't settle for someone real. I'm not sure there is a single soulmate for everyone, but I think there is someone for everyone who could be a soulmate, if that makes any s...

taraelocin responded to a discussion called Classmates Gathering, Will You Try to Avoid with a Pretext or Take Part in It? in life.
I haven't seen my classmates since 1997. I'd love to see them again. There was reunion a couple of years ago, but I live several thousands of miles away now and in a different country. To fly home for a school reunion is just not justifiable looking at the cost of the flights.

taraelocin responded to a discussion called Are You Jealous of the Success of Your Classmates? in questions & answers.
No, I'm not jealous. I have achieved what I set out to achieve and are very proud of myself. I guess if you haven't been able to achieve your ambitions it is easy to feel jealous.

taraelocin responded to a discussion called Have you ever been fired from work? in work.
I wasn't fired, but my contract wasn't extended after the probation period. They wanted someone with a lot of confidence and I was shy. There was no point in asking for another chance. I never understood why they recruited me in the first place. I even said in the interview that I was relatively shy. Maybe they thought they could change me...

taraelocin responded to a discussion called Who will You Stand Up For, the Boss or Your Colleagues? in relationships.
Both are important. Working against your boss is a bad choice for your career. Working against colleague robs you of support and help they could give you. I believe in being honest. I stand by whoever I believe is right and try to find compromises that work for all. Generally speaking I am respected for it.

taraelocin responded to a discussion called Would You Lend Your Money to Friends Online? in questions & answers.
I might be selfish, but no, I wouldn't. I am very careful who I give money to. I have some very old and good friends I'd trust with my life. I would lend them money if they'd need it and I can afford to. But I know a friend who gave money to friends several time - she couldn't afford it. She never got it back. She lost friends.

taraelocin responded to a discussion called Do You Want to be a Woman behind Your Man Or a Capable Career Woman? in life.
The honest answer is: both. I am a capable career woman myself. I love my career, love being successful, love proving myself. At the same time my husband is our main income earner. He asks me to come along to some business dinners as his wife, which I am happy to do to help him. We support each other, help each other when we are not sure about business issues. So I don't think I have to c...

taraelocin responded to a discussion called What is your favorite color? Do you know the meaning of this? in questions & answers.
Yellow. I can't tell you why and I have no idea what it stands for. But ever since I was a child I loved the colour yellow. I had clothes in the colour. I insisted on this colour when playing Ludo and I always coloured my pictures in yellow. Maybe it just reminded me of the sun?

taraelocin commented in a discussion called What is the cutest thing your child has ever done? in had a family.

How sweet. I guess in that age everthing seems still possible!

Good look with your second baby. I hope I'll be pregnant one day soon and have a healthy baby. I don't want to give up yet.

Do you prefer communicate per email or per phone at work?

In the last few years I have noticed that I receive many more emails at work than phone calls. It is a good thing because communication is quicker and you have a written record. But on the other side...

As a manager - is it important that your employees like you?

Today one of my colleagues said: "I really hate my boss. He is so annoying!" Another colleague answered: "So what. He's good at his job. You don't need to like him!" That made me think. It's...

Male infertility - do you resent your husband for having to go through IVF?

My husband and I are suffering from male infertility. All the tests showed that there is nothing whatsoever wrong with me. Of course it is painful that I have to go through treatment to be able to...

What if you couldn't have children?

I am currently phasing the possibility never to have children. I'm not giving up yet and am positive and determined. But it makes you think - what if you couldn't have (had) children?Could you...

Are you shy?

When I was younger I was really shy. I didn't like being the centre of attention. I didn't know what to say to strangers. I recently said to a colleague that I am shy and she started laughing and...
