another PS user here! when i had my fuji camera, i used to do all my "work" over the picture in PS, but now, with my nikon d70, i gotta use capture nx for the nef file, but i adjust some things there and then i save as tiff and work some more in PS. well, i only shoot in at the lowest iso setting. i don't change the iso. i would rather use flash or not take the shot than change the iso...:) but that's me...
basically, you want to increase you iso when you can't get a good sharp photo (i.e. gettin' blur from hand holding the camera). how much should you increase the iso? well, i would guess until you can get a nice sharp image.:) |

well, you could try using a mode wide angled lens or the smallest focal distance on you actual lens. if that doesn't work, take a meter reading onto the subject you wanna photograph, remember those settings (aperture and shutter speed), switch to manual, input the aperture and shutter speed you got when you metered, and take 2 shots, as in your picture. this was you won't have 2 different meter... |

once you get the hang of it, it's quite a child's play.:) with a lot of practice, patiente and some help, you can get to create your own workflow, your own shortcuts, and that way your work will be faster and you'll have more fun doin' it.:) |

most nikon-users recommend using nikon capture nx if you shoot raw...they say that ACR kinda messes up nefs a lil'bit...well, now, i don't know if this applies to newer cameras, as the d80, but you could try capture nx for a change.
