2 years ago Since I have no idea how Mylot´s confusing message system works, and dont know if my reply got through-
The most accurate one so far would be T.B. Irving´s - The Qur'an: The First American Version, which is the one with fewer mistranslations, and isnt shoved with commentary that sometimes contradicts the Koran itself, although I have found it a bist hard to find.
Abdullah Yusufali´s one is quite accurate too, although I sstill dont like it for the modesty=veil and servant=virgin mistranslation.
I´m awaiting a translation of Christoph Luxenberg's book, Die Syro-Aramaische Lesart des Koran, available only in German, which has broken down most mistranlations by going back to the source language, classic Arabic, its suppesed to come around June.
If you have an e-book reader, a good selection is avaliable from here- http://arthursclassicnovels.com/arthurs/koran.html |
