"Mmm, Aspiaq!" I hear these words, which mean it very delicious, in times we are eating our traditional foods. I am a Yup'ik Eskimo from Alaska. In my culture we gather foods from out in our forests, tundra, or rivers. Some of the foods we gather are Moose from the forests, berries from the tundra, and salmon fish from the rivers. All of this would be destroyed from a proposed mine in the Bristol Bay region of Alaska, one of the biggest fishing operations of Alaska.
