I read an article today on the New York Times website about a survey conducted in the US about what Americans think the leading cause of death among children (under age five) worldwide is. AIDS was the number one answer, and malaria was second. In fact, AIDS accounts for only 3% of child deaths yearly, and malaria 8%. What kills children, then?
