A probe by the Bureau of Land Management has exonerated the US military for causing the deaths of 71 wild horses who made their home near a weapons testing site.
The animals died last July of nitrate poisoning at the Tonopah Test Range, a military proving ground for ballistics and bomb experiments about 200 miles from Las Vegas. According to the Associated Press, before the recent deaths, the area was home to about 250 wild horses.
