Gall Stones on top of everything else! |
|
I went into the ER last night due to horrible right side pain. Thought it was another kidney stone but somehow the pain was different and went up underneath my rib cage. They did an ultrasound and it turns out I have 3 gallstones. They told me to see a specialist and talk to him about possibly having my gallbladder taken out. They said I could wait and see what happens, also, and see if I will constantly have problems. Well, I already have chronic heartburn, so I am guessing I might have constant problems. SO, what do I do? I didn't need this on top of all the other stress I have. I didn't get any sleep last night, and I am cranky and tired and just frustrated. I had a huge emotional conversation with my ex today which unfortunately had me bawling like a baby. ARG. My life is no longer my own. It is left to fate, I guess. Some days (today included) I would like to crawl into a hole and never come out. If it weren't for my children, I might do just that. So, tell me your experiences with gallstones/gall bladder, for those who have any experience with it. Thank you.

Prairiedawn31 (1168) | 2 years ago | I never had to change it but before the surgery about everything I ate made me sick so I had to have it done. After the surgery I never changed it but do to the constant heartburn now everything gives me heartburn terrible no matter what I eat. I didn't develop that until later on though way after the gallbladder surgery.

2. cremechese (4503) | 2 years ago | Yowch. I know many people this has happened to. If it were me, I'd go ahead and have the gallbladder out. After that (and I am only going on the experience of friends) you just have to watch your diet and you'll be rid of the grief.

4. mickidmw (559) | 2 years ago | BIG HUG!!!!! It will get better! And honey, he is an ex for a reason! Leave that alone!!! Gall stones SUCK! I almost died from them in 87! I was in so much pain I wish I would have just died! I truly thought I was going to! I ended up in the hospital and had surgery, intensive care for 5 days 2 days on the regular floor and in bed for another 2 weeks after! It was horrible! The surgery today is much much easier! I had a friend go through it recently and she was out of the hospital the same day and back to work in 3! Unreal I told her she really sucked! But really! There is not a lot you can do about it until you see the dr, so relax (easy to say) it will get better! And give yourself a big huse long hug from me! Really! Great post and good good good luck! You'll be in my thoughts!

5. Mickie30 (1681) | 2 years ago | Sorry to hear this it doesn't sound nice. Chronic heartburn is already bad enough. There are all sorts of things that can cause gallstones: women people over age 60 Native Americans Mexican Americans overweight men and women people who fast or lose a lot of weight quickly pregnant women, women on hormone replacement therapy, and women who use birth control pills I hope you get it sorted.

6. Fishmomma (3393) | 2 years ago | I had a stone removed in 1988 and it was the most painful time in my life. Please see a specialists about your gall bladder, as it sounds like you have had quite a few of them. Do you have other family members with this problem? In my family, there are several members that have all suffered with stones and we were informed its genetic and several of us no longer have gall bladders.

8. CaroleeKaufold (1538) | 2 years ago | I had gallstones when I was pregant. They had to waite for the baby to be born. It hurts a lot, doesn't it? It is much easier now to remove them than 38 years ago. I had to stay in the hospital for 10 days. Now you can have them out on the same day and leave the hospital.

9. lightningMD (5577) | 2 years ago | I suggest just having your gall bladder out now. I had the same problem,I tried putting it off since my father was dying of cancer at the same time. The attacks became so bad that I couldnt eat. I couldnt sleep. I was in constant pain. About 2 weeks after my fathers funeral I had the surgery and I have felt great ever since. They did the surgery laperscopically(SP)three little holes no big scar. Save yourself alot of pain and schedule your surgery soon.

10. TerryZ (11511) | 2 years ago | I had mine out last year and it was the most painful thing Ive ever gone through. Im only being honest with you. But if they can go through your naval then it wont be so bad. They couldnt with me they tried and my gallbladder had swollen so big it could be done that way. So I have a big scar on my stomach. I suggest you have it done before it gets worse and they wont be able to go through your naval.
