First thought when you found out you had PCOS?

im depressed because medicine really sucks. i hate taking meds.

i was worried that i couldn't have kids. or at least, i would have a hard time conceiving. although, through medication and contant monitoring of my ob-gyne, i was able to conceive.

you mention the treatment for it, i have this? can i ask you what treatment did they say they would give you for this? as i wasnt told so far about any treatment for this? all i was given was cream to slow the hair growth down? but i have got to go back to the hospital thou for another check up in july. my email is deetox68@aol.com
so what treatment did they tell you that you need? in answer to your question. i was upset a bit but i already had high blood pressure and just thought, on well! another thing now i got wrong with me. so whats new! i never get any good news anyway.

I had kind of a mixed reaction. I was diagnosed when I couldn't get pregnant, we started testing to find out why I wasn't getting pregnant and it turned out to be PCOS. My reaction was both relief at having a reason, a diagnosis, so we could start treating it and move forward(better than just infertility with no reason, anyway) but on the other hand, not all women with PCOS ARE able to concieve and/or carry a baby to term, so I was scared I would never have a biological child. I did actually end up getting pregnant pretty easily with treatment. I got pregnant on a combo of Glucophage and Clomid, and stayed on the Gluc to reduce the chance of miscarriage-and have a healthy little boy to show for it!

I was quite scared as i really wanted another baby and when i fell for her i fell quite quick and at then time i didnt even know i had pcos. But 4 years on my daughter was at the right age and me and my partner thought now is the time to try for another so with months of missed periods i went to the doctors had some blood testsand they come back saying pcos. So i went to the hospital and they told me to loose a bit of weight and then they would help me. So in between that i brought books and i have just started taking herbs to see if i can do treat it myself without the aid of treatment from the hospital.

I was really relieved because for years I had been told that all my problems with my cycles were in my head! Finally I had a name for my physical problem and for my infertility (this was over 20 years ago so not as widely known about though it was first recognized in the 1950s) Then, yes, I was sad, depressed because of the infertility and had three years of being poked, prodded and jabbed before i was successful and became pregnant. But I was one of the luck yone:) I have three sons - one is 19 and the twins are 17.

I was depressed and sad, I've never been that sad since I got married, I cried and cried.I was worried that I might not have kids of my own, got more worried of the complications it can bring, high blood, diabetes, heart desease and some more.

But I got over it, I cried and layid it all down into God's hands.We're still praying and hoping that one day we'll have our little bundle of joy, God's precious gift to us..
