What does it take to get people to post in your topic?

I mean every topic i ever created either has 1 or 2 post or none. I make simple topics like what is your favorite tv show type questions. I always give a best response in a topic but yet i see topics with page after page and nobody even gets a best response. So i am wondering what kinda tip can anybody give me to attract more people to my topics?

It seems that there are more people here in mylot who prefers simple questions so they can provide simple answers on the fly. Besides, most people's mentality here is the more you post, whether good or bad, fruitful or nonsense will reward them with points and then more earnings. I too like to post sometimes to simple topics just to contribute and hoping for the next day that my meager little posts will net me at least some doolahs. :)

I think it takes time to get responses and a topic that will interest people. I still have topics that have no responses and some that have like 12. Just be patient my friend :-)

I think it just depends on who stumbles into what topic. A lot of it is probably just luck. If you post a question at a time when Certain people are on, they will answer them. Also, a topic that takes off a little bit will go farther because it gets put back on the front page. Most people just want the money so they answer what they see first. Does this make sense? Well, I feel your pain. I have asked questions that I really needed the answers to but no one would respond and it made me frustrated. I think I'm going to go on a mission sometimes to just dedicate myself to answering questions that don't get much response. I'll help you out to. Answering some of your questions will get them out there, noticed again, and people might start responding to them. Good luck!

as i observed with my discussion i posted, the more number of responses are the non-sense topic and the short question that is easy to read. while my discussion with a long question i only get 1 or 2, i even have no response to one of my discussion. i think i you want to have more response on your topic better have a simple question and idea for people may answer on your post. and some people like to answer question which they can relate to the available topic.

post a no-brainer question. the ones that are easiest to answer with very few words. i guess people just dont like to type very long answers so they just answer short questions.

Well, personally, I get tired of answering the same old thing over and over and over again. I suggest trying to think up questions that people can actually TALK about. The simple questions get so old. Try to be creative and think of a question that'll need longer answers and allow people to think.

I have the same problem. I do a search first, and ask a question that's never been asked a 100 times before, and I get no responses :(
