3.  dbeast (1265) | 2 years ago |  hell no they are not washed up.they are the Gods of metal and they are working on their new album.they are going to come back again and rise to the top with their new album.they have had their share of highs and lows but this time they are coming back with an album which is going to soung like the vintage metallica,like the master of puppets.they are going to rock our brains out with their comeback.

 ORyansBelt2012 (1344) | 2 years ago | Don't get me wrong. I love Metallica. St. Anger was a dud album, and it just seems like they've lost their edge a bit since they did the rehab thing and went corporate.
I'm not saying their stuff before was bad. Sandman and Master of Puppets are the anthems of a generation.
But has the music scene passed them by?
Unlike Peter Pan, someday we all grow up, and maybe Metallica has grown up too.
We'll see. I'm looking forward to the new album. I just want to see it soon. It's been awhile. | |

| 4. Sinkaro (5) | 2 years ago |  Washed up? No. Perhaps in a bit of a slump since St Anger. I'm most definately looking forward to their next album, and I'm sure that it will see at least moderate success. It would be nice to see them do something revolutionary and reach their original height of success, but I'm not getting my hopes up on that.
Ryan, you may be right: Metallica has been going strong for quite awhile. And though they will always be remembered, they could finally be reaching the end of their days... It'll be a sad day when that news comes out, though.

| ORyansBelt2012 (1344) | 2 years ago | Well, Metallica will join a long list of bands who continue to tour and make millions playing their old stuff (look at the Stones, Jimmy Buffett, Paul McCartney, the Who, and Queen). It's not that Metallica will go away, they will just release live CD's, which I love. Two of my favorites, Live Sh*t and Purge, and S/M. In fact, S/M with the SF Symphony Orchestra is awesome. You should see the DVD when the violins transition to Master of Puppets. It's awesome. The crowd goes nuts, including some old metalhead in the front row. | |
