Which is your favorite musical decade? |
| |
| With the birth of rock and roll in the 1950s, which decade is your favorite decade of music and which decade is your least favorite? You can even pick a period of music as well...Sgt Pepper to Double Live Gonzo would be 1965-1975; Captain n Tenille to Duran Duran would by 75 to 85. My favorite musical decade is the sixties, especially the Woodstock era, the Sgt. Pepper to Double Live Gonzo. That music is still dominating radio play today. My least favorite is the 70s and disco. Disco Inferno is enough to gag a maggot. What do you think? | | | | | |

| | I like the 50s and 60s too but I would have to say for me the 80s is the best generation musically. I love the 80s pop, New wave is my favorite type of music. I like the 80s goth and punk too... and hip hop! There is just so much diversity in the 80s more-so that prior generations. I don't really hate any generation of music... I even like the 40s. I do like some disco... Hmm... I guess maybe the 70s because I like all the other generations better - but I still like the 70s they are just my least favorite. | | | | | | |

| | Well when I was growing up the people who raised me had influence with big band/jazz and 50s and 60s music... since going out on my own, I've totally drifted the other way, I now listen to country country, and country....I tend to like the more traditional twangy, country, but some of the country rock is cool too, and of course rockabilly isn't too bad.....but also I love bluegrass which is a close relative to country. | | I am going to be a little different here and claim an era from the mid to late 1700's to the early 1800's which produced such musical genius as Schubert Strauss Beethovan Mozart Bach!!! (I am partial to Bach and Strauss myself) on the more modern spectacle I like folk music as well as traditional ethnic music (celtic/irish, spanish, mexican, portuguese) I think the worst decade was the 1970's with the introduction of "Disco" which had no substance to it. | | | | | | |

| | I'd have to say my favorite musical decade runs from 1985-1995, since I'm actually forcing myself to choose lol. Everything ranging from Duran Duran to Motley Crue in the late 80s to everything ranging from Alanis Morrissette to Nine Inch Nails in the early 90s pretty much rocks my boat. ...oh no! having a 60's flashback..."rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby, rock the boat rock on witcher bad self" That's terrible! I'm not even from the 60s! lol | | | | | | |
