Where Do You Aim the Remote Control When Making Television Adjustments...

Remote? Whats that? Ohhhh You mean that black rectangular thing that is fused to my husbands hand. Nope I never aim in anywhere. I have seen people do that before.
I find it kinda funny.

I am crap too..i am always doing that. As if it will work like that lol. I am not very technically inclined and make booboos all the time..I hope one day I can use my brain and become very technically savvy, including using the remote control. I hate it when the batteries run out and I keep pressing it ..knowing that the battery is flat!

)Is THAT my problem? I don't watch all that much tv but we have the works 3 different boxes, tv, cable box, stereo system, video player and I do tend to forget and just point something, (I have 3 different remote controls, well 4 but one is for the tv and I don't need to use that.. much...) in the general direction of the box business under the tv screen. I even point it like I'm throwing a knife sometimes, as if it will work better or faster. I find even pressing the button HARDER on the remote control sometimes helps, as long as you are also moving the remote control about a bit.

Why? I don't know.. I really don't. I DO know that when I interrupt my dearest when she is watching something, she picks up one of those remotes, turns to me, and points it at me with outstretched arm, and clicks it at ME!

I know there is nothing wrong with the remote control. She can very effectively turn ME 'off' with one (and her 'look'.;=)

I just point it at the general area until soemthing happens.
Fro a while was on the same frequency as a neighbor so woudl change his channel for him soemtimes.

Usually I point the remote control up as the radio signal tend to bounce around everywhere off the ceiling anyways, at least with my equipment. I really started doing that because it is annoying to see the red or green light go on and off repeatedly as I use the various remotes. So I twist it, or hold it up so I don't see that damnedable flash.

Haha, good question! I must confess that I will generally aim at the general direction. After all, if the battery is not that weak or the set is not that lousy, it should be able to capture the signal too. But yes, sometimes when I find that it is not working, I will be more careful at pointing.:P

Hee hee, my husband, who is very educated and overall an intelligent person, is compltetely illiterate when it comes to the remote. He's always pointing it at the TV and then wonders why the channel won't chnage. I have to remind him to point it at the DVR box. Granted, he's not a big TV watcher, LOL.

I catch myself pointint my control, no matter which one it is, at the TV quite often. We have a seperate control for the sound system so volume controls need to be pointed at that system, not the TV. Why do we do it? Habit and also because we are watching TV, so our mind is set on that being the focal point of all we are doing at that moment I guess.

Okay, have you been spying on me?! Yup, I tend to aim those controlers right towards the TV. Yup, I then use many explatives when the TV doesn't do as I had planned. I have, on so many occassions, dreamed of throwing said controllers against the wall in frustration, and yes, have cursed our satellite provider! We tend to forget that the controller should be aimed at the item that we wish to control rather than the TV. But because it is the TV which will show the change and that is the focus of our attention, we aim the controller at the TV! Hey, why don't I invent a controller that can magically make the changes in the TV despite being aimed at the TV rather than at the system component required to make the change....I could retire a millinaire!! Off to my garage lab to begin work on my invention!
