I'd like to see someone from this new age group actually write an original song.

The scary thing is that most people in my age group (I'm 21 now) have NO IDEA that Supertramp even existed. I've always been into music that's older than me, so I knew it...
I used to have a hatred for cover songs, but I've kinda let that go...it's how most garage bands get their start, and so long as they don't pretend that they wrote it, it's just another angle on the same song. Sampling is what annoys me, since MOST songs that sample were just too unoriginal to have their own hook.
