Dorm check was a scam

I am so upset right now.Today I would have had enough to cash out for my first time at dorm check.Different ones would post in dorm check every ones in a while that dorm check was a scam.I didn't want to listen.I was like well their just retaliating because they got kicked out or something.They were right.I tried to go to the website and it said dormcheck will be a no longer paying forum and they would send us an email.Guess what,I never received my email.

I was a member for a while. I reached the minimum payout months ago and never got paid within the allotted time I said I would be. I guess now it's final and I never will get paid.=/ I am not going to sweat over it because it's not like it's going to affect my life in the long term. It's only $10, and it was free to join...

As far as competing with MyLot, I did see a lot of comparisons on there. In many ways, DormCheckers compared the forum quite positively to MyLot because you could post short sentences and phrases for answers so it was relatively easy to make a couple of dollars over the span of one day... They also seemed to like the fact that it didn't delve into people's personal lives as much as MyLot seems to at times. Many members even seemed to be spending all day posting, ever-confident that it would amount to something tangible ($$$) in the end.

Looking back on it, I do think their expectations were a bit unrealistic - promising a full cent for every post regardless of the quality - and with all the members they had, I don't see how they could continue to afford to pay them all...

However, some members did swear by it, claiming they were paid large amounts for the promised one cent per post.

While the system did have a few good points and features, it was just not carried out properly and there was no way it could have thrived in the long run the way it was being managed.

I never had a problem with Dorm Check. I was happy there. I couldn't believe it when I went back to their website and read that they would no longer a paying forum. Needless to say I was very dissapointed. I don't think it was a scam, at least I hope they weren't. However, that mommie person extremely annoyed me.

But, who knows what happened? Maybe we'll find out in a few days.

Well I had made up to $6 with them but i gave up after many people complained they didn't get their money and I didn't get my grab bags until I threatened to tell pay pal. Then his excuse was all of my emails didn't go through. Except for the one after I threatened. OK I believe you. Anyways. I quit going there after that. I think Blake was trying to make it work but he didn't have the experience or knowledge to make it succeed. I don't think when he started it he was looking to scam people. It just happened that way.

I was so upset when I tried to log on and saw that message. It said we would get an email with details too, and I never did. I had $15 on there that I was just about to cash out. I did actually get paid on Dorm Check once before, so after that, I thought the site was definitely legitimate, but everyone else kept talking about not getting paid. I guess I was one of the lucky ones since I got paid once at least. At least I haven't heard bad things about myLot, so I'll just stick here!

I have not visited dormcheck for quite a few weeks until recently. Surprised, it was down just like paid forum. The page says it has emailed all members. MommieMoney, one of it's staunchest mods and defender, has also been disgusted. She also did not receive any email from Collin, as the homepage says. First, Dormcheck was going to pay only selected countries. And now, this. They had so much against mylot on that forum but they did not do any better. Many members there had bought something that they never received. Am I glad that I put all my efforts here at mylot.

Yes u have put a salt on my wounds...I had tried my luck on that site but like all other sites it comes out as a scam...Acoording to them due to increasing no. of cheaters they are not going to pay anyone but what about all those users who had worked honestly day and night..what about all their earnings...atleast they need to pay it to them...but what can we do??? I think such kind of sites should be banned out completly...

yes dormcheck is a scam i dont know why i joined that site i wasted my time on that site they didnt pay me even when i reachen the 10$ mark....

they sent me a mail saying that my answers were all too small

I heard that alot of mylot members were also dormcheck members, and the same ones that were scamming here by copy and pasting plagiarized text from other websites were also doing that there. Not only were they plagiarizing copyrighted websites, but they were stealing discussions that were started by members here, and using them there.

Also, when a paid to post site has issues with members using copy and paste to take articles and writings that appear on other websites and fail to proper give the credit link and or authors name to where they took the text from, they have a difficult time getting quality advertisement and sponsors to align themselves with their site. Meaning, they can't afford to pay members without quality advertisement, and who wants to be associated with a site that cannot clean up plagiarism and copyright infringement?

Mylot has the same problem here, which is why I do not post as much here anymore. I am just waiting for that day I login and get an alert that says they cannot pay anymore because there is way too much cheating for earnings going on. There is a huge misconception here that when you reach 500 posts that means you no longer have to be ethical and follow the writers guidelines, that you can copy and paste any text you find on some website and call it your own without giving the link to the original article and making it known that the words are not your own.

Mylot cannot keep up with the number of people that engage in unethical copy and pasting/plagiarism/copyright infringement, and it could be the downfall of this site, as it was with dormcheck.

I can't even find the dormcheck website anymore. how do you even get onto their website. I had an account with them, but that was a long time ago.
