A handy site for business and human resources advice  

I've been using this site for several years now and have found it to be a handy arena to get inspiration and ideas for work-related issues (and some non-work related issues too). I'm struggling to remember how I came across it but I have a feeling it was when I was doing research for a Human Resources course a few years back for which I found it invaluable.

Businessballs is a handy site that contains loads of free resources for organisational and personal development. Businessballs has lots of "free materials, articles, and ideas for ethical personal and organizational development, compassionate leadership, self-help and self-fulfillment".

The site is run by Alan Chapman from Leicester (UK) who launched the site in 1999 as an ethical learning and development resource for anyone to use. The site says its philosophy is to be ethical, practical, innovative, compassionate and enjoyable. Having used the site quite often for research purposes I would have to say, in my opinion, it certainly fulfils its own philosophy! The site name came about due to Alan Chapman having used juggling balls in training and development some years prior to the site being created.

At first glance people might feel that it's all about touchy feely training resources and dismiss it, but there is a wealth of useful information on there which everyone would find of some use.

RESTRICTIONS ON USING THE RESOURCES

The site is completely free to use, you don't need to log in or register your details or anything like that at all. The materials provided are all free to read and use for personal use or for delivering your own training in a commercial environment provided you include the copyright and disclaimer details as provided on the relevant page(s) that you use.
