No, I don't think this was a racial issue but a mental one. The gunman was not thinking right. He had some loose connections in there which many noticed long before but to which they did not do anything.

no i think its not... i read the news online and they say that the killer shot randomly... i think he is just disturbed and he is not against any other race for that matter... maybe on social status...

i read TIME magazines article on this event a few days ago, and in it there were pictures of all the victims. 32 people, i believe, were shot by Seung-Hui Cho and they were all different races. why would you assume it's a racial issue? and do you feel sorry for the other people who were killed or just the one man who shared your skin color? that doesn't seem right. It doesn't look like he discriminated against anyone in his choices of victims, he killed older teachers, and young students. white, black, and other.

I don't think it's a racial issue. He killed anybody randomly. At least one of his victim is asian as well. I believe the problem lays more on the easyness in the US to purchase a gun. Nobody can control that someone with a mental illnes can buy a gun and shoot it to anyone he wants... US should be more stringent on their weapons law..
