Update: Pet Food Recall List

When it comes to recalls I check them out, whether they deal with me or for my pets. I don't want them to get ill after all.

it will end when companies stop trying to save a dollar by importing ingredients from unregulated sources. US and Canada have strict guidelines concerning food and other countries don't have to go by our regulations... and they know it.

they say that scraps isn't good for our pets but honestly, I remember when I was a kid we couldn't afford cat and dog food and we did feed our animals whatever we ate.. and they never had any kind of health problems. so I'm not sure where they get this notion.

what scares me is that the recall list seems to be adding more and more brands on it's lists each day. I feel like there is nothing safe anymore. and how do we know that this wheat and rice gluten won't find it's way into our food supply? I heard the other day that they had some hogs quarantined because they ate poisonous feed ... what if they hadn't been caught and ended up as being ham and bacon? it's scary!

Yes Elp it is very scary I just hope that it all stops soon and I would like to know how it got there in the first Place

I have checked the lists. My cat and dog both eat Purina and so far Purina has managed, thank God. to stay off the list. Purina has even sent out letters to its Canadian customers telling us that its food is safe. I certainly hope it stays that way. Although my big guy will eat anything, my little girl is extremely fussy about what goes in her mouth to the point that she will not even eat wet or semi-moist cat food.

I think it is wonderful of you to think of the rest of us in this time of grieving, though. I know you don't want to see any other animals have to suffer and I think the fact that you are undering this research shows what a marvelous person you are.

I really don't want another pet to die.. I love animals even if they aren't mine. if knowledge can prevent another animal from having to suffer like my fur baby did.. I will hunt everything that I can and pass it along.

I wish I had seen it, but I wasn't here 6 months ago :(

I'm glad that your pets are still healthy:) I know that you still worry about what might be recalled next.. I am too! I am feeding my other dog a brand that isn't on the list and pray every time I fill up his dish.

I have heard that 50 pet owners have sued menu foods and they are suing the ones who sold them the wheat gluten.

by the way sorry for your dog. I surely hope something can be done about this. people can't just kill so many lives and walk away like that - I'm so angry sorry I vent!
