Simple solution for people that want to edit!!!!

If you use Firefox, it has a built-in spell check. It has an extension called Greasemonkey too. Greasemonkey allows you to customize your Firefox browser to your specifications. Greasemonkey has userscripts which change the way your browser works. It has two really GREAT scripts which will help you here in Mylot and in other areas that you type long 'novels'...LOL.

The two userscripts are 'textarea backup' and 'protect textarea'. I wouldn't know what to do without these now. 'Textarea backup' does just that. If mylot or any website goes down, the text you have typed will still be there when you get back to it.

'Protect textarea' will have warning come up that asks if you want to submit your text, so it gives you a second chance before you send your 'book' wherever you are sending it.

So, to sum things up. Get Firefox. It has a built-in spell check. Get Greasemonkey. Get the two user scripts. Protect Textarea and Textarea backup.

I use firefox sometimes it is really good, I love the feature as well. For those that do not want to leave IE, IE now has a spellcheck plugin that you can install into your browser. Best part is, eventhough it is a plugin, you can also uninstall it as well (of course most plugins are now un-installable).

I just can't go back to IE after using Firefox. Every time I use IE, my computer freezes up. I hate it!

I know what you mean about IE, we have all had our share of frustrations dealing with IE and lock ups. My problem is, I can't live without IE, with all of it's flaws, I still use it. But, I also use Firefox too so, when IE gives me issues I close it and open FF. Have you tried Avant? Avant is very nice, it is not as good as FF but it is still nice, you might like it. Cheers

I use the IE tab add-on that FF has. It is very nice to have, so I don't have to turn around and open IE every time I need it. I just right click on a page and I have the option of opening in an IE tab. Pretty nice!

That is really useful and interesting information. I use firefox and I love it. It is probably the best browser. I do use the spell check sometimes. I have installed Greasemonkey once before but never really got to grips with it. Do you think that it is quite easy to install and use? I will certainly look into it and find out. Thanks for the info!

Yes, Greasemonkey is easy to install. The userscripts are very easy to install too. You don't even have to restart your browser when installing scripts. Good luck!!
