Help for tennis elbow...  |

|  What is the best way to get tennis elbow to heal? I have been told that it can take months for the tear in the muscle or tendon to heal. I have to be able to use my arm as I am a school bus driver and a grandmother. I have tried the Capsasin Cream until my arm burned everytime I used it. Now I am using a Lydocain Patch taht was prescribed to me. Great. That helps with the pain, but doesn't promote healing. Anyone have any suggestions?

| |  I don't think that it will ever heal. You could try using one of those braces that you can wear on your arm, some people say that relieves the pain.I was told I have tendonitis and so I asked the doctor what I can do about it cause sometimes the pain is so bad in my hand I can't do a lot with it. His response was don't use it! ha ha very funny eh.

| |  I have to deal with tennis elbow all the time as I train very heavy with weights. You must put your elbow first in hot water for a bit then immediatley put it in ice cold water. You do this back and forth 3-5 times. Now you should start taking high vitamin c and flax oil, this heals the elbow. It takes time but it will get better and go away.

| |  I messed up my elbow this winter with all the snow. It's gonna sound really strange but you should take B 6 it is very helpful with your joints. Mine isn't all the wat better but it isn't nagging me all the time either. It does take about a month for you to see a change. If that doesnt help maybe you should go see the DR.

| |  Do they have your arm wrapped or in a sling at all? When my son had a tear in his arm from hockey they pretty much made it as stiff as possible with braces that he could take off when needed. I think it's simply a matter of time and not much more. I know when you have broken bones, drinking a ton of milk really does help to get the break to fix itself but muscles and tendons tend to need "no use" as the best method.

| |  I had a bout with tennis elbow. I wore a wrist splint to stabilize my wrist and also a stap for my arm. There are several that I have tried. The one that worked best for me was one that had a pillow that applied pressure to the tendon to alleviate the pain.

| | Ace bandage will only offer minimal relief. Using the elbow strap will be better. You can find them at WalMart or many drug stores. Of course, working in a store that sold these products, I can recommend some good ones. Hely-Weber is a great one. It is a pull on that velcroes. I have one at home and use it when I get a flare up. | | | |

| |  I'm going to the doctor today for the same problem. I will ask for a strap. What kind of strap works best? Last year I had trigger thumb. I had a shot of cortizone and it cleared up. Did you use the elbow while wearing the strap? How does it feel now?
