The Reunion Epidemic

Yes it is great that all are awakening. and that too at the same time. I think they can if they had done real hard work in bringing out a masterpiece.

I agree. When you try to go back to something you once enjoyed, it could end up being different, and maybe a little bit disappointing. Here in the U.K. a while back, Rod Stewart cut some new records, and they didn't get too far.

Music has moved on so much. I like to listen to the old tracks from the 60s and 70s but when a band tries to come back with a new song but in the same style, it doesn't seem to do it for me.

But there is this "band wagon" that everyone tries to jump on at the moment.. no pun intended LOL

I think a lot of bands see the incredible amounts of money being made these days (silly me, I thought it was outrageous to have to pay $15.00 to see Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band back in the day but that's a pittance when compared to the astronomical ticket prices bands charge...and get...these days:-) and figure they might as well take a shot at having a great payday (this being something the Stones knew all along, of course.) We nostalgic folks in the baby boom generation (and even some younger folks...I imagine that Britney Spears' "comeback" tour will be announced any day now) are willing to pay to see our old favorites and try to recapture that connection we had with their music in the past (at least those who can afford to pony up the dough.)

(Though, that said, is there really a groundswell of folks demanding a Spice Girls reunion tour? Yikes...:-)

Bands doing reunion is like rekindling to the days during their prime. With the case of the Police they are the best band during the 80's.
