Why do people still buy computers when laptops are almost of the same price ?  

the only good thing about laptops over destop computers is its convenience as regards its size and easy to bring about places without much ado. the destop computers are more desirable for people who stay at home at most of their times, as well as, for those who do their computing work only at home. the desk top computers are more friendly in terms of their capacity and capability to be undergoing updating whenever needed. this is one thing which is not easy to have with laptops.

Desktops are extremely easy to fix and customize. Sure, laptops have PC cards and all that, but you can't add five or six PCI adapters in a laptop.

laptops are convenient because they are easy to take anywhere. but desktop computer are easy if you don't need it to take it anywhere. and it is bought because it is much easier to upgrade and repair

maybe some ppl are used to using desktop PC instead of laptops, therefore they prefer desktop rather than laptop. usually with a PC, you'll get better use of the keyboard, screen, speakers and a much better cursor control as it comes with a mouse. i'm not sure about the performance between a PC and a laptop though, maybe that's a factor too.

I know with me I was just use to the desktop one so when I bought a new one I got another desk top. I kind of wish that I got a laptop instead. Well probably when I get a new one the laptop will be my choice.

Following are the reasons why Desktops still sell more than Laptops.

1. Desktops have a low maintainence cost.
2. Desktops are very easy to upgrade.
3. Desktops have a longer life span than Laptops.
4. Desktops can hardle hard use.
5. And As far as India is Concerned We get a much better desktop than a laptop for Similar Prices

Well i don't think others opinion against laptops but I think some people buy laptops just for their size and their functions. On a computer you can upgrade many parts making it better, instead in a laptop you can only do that by paying a lot of money.
