Do I really need that watch or is it just out of habbit?  

In my case, I think it is a little of both. I am so used to wearing as I have worn a watch since I was in high school that I feel naked without it.

I do check my watch often as I am a school bus driver and I keep my cell phone in my purse. The kids always seem to want to know the time, and my watch is easier to see than to try and dig for my cell phone.

I used to wear one when I was working, but since I became disabled I no longer need it.

It took a while to get used to doing without it though, and I have a small clock sitting on top of my CPU on my desk.

I never wear a watch. Like you, I usually have my cell phone with me if I am out, and there are clocks in my house, so I can easily find the time when I need to know it.

I don't wear a watch. I was a nurse in my working years, and time was very important, when to give certain medications or treatments, to time heart rate ect. My last day of working, when I stripped off the uniform I also took off the watch. I do have a watch in my purse, so if I HAVE to be somewhere at a specific time I can check my progress, but for the rest of the time----------I don't like to be on a schedule.
lololol, I do use a timer sometimes as I get very involved into my sewing or reading and may sit too long.

I would try going without one for a while. You will get use to not wearing one and save some money by not replacing the battery. Also, you don't have to bother with taking it off every time you shower in case your watch is not waterproof.

I don't wear a watch anymore, but carry a clip on one attached to my keychain for when I am out and about.
