Who has a Saturn vehicle?  | | | |  And who here has had as much problems with their car as I have mine?
Within 5000 miles, the AC quit twice, the AC condensor had to be replaced once, the brakes went bad, the exhaust system had holes in it causing my car to run loudly, the front end was out of line so bad that the whole car shook, the alternator quit, blowing up the battery and the radio quit.
Within 7500 miles, the AC quit again, the front end alignment problem was still there, the car started to burn oil, the whole exhaust system had to be replaced, the alternator blew up again and again it shorted the battery which caused acid to leak eveywhere.
Within 10000 miles, the AC quit a 4th time, the front end was worse and I had to replace 3 sets of tires, the battery blew up a 3rd time, the brakes squealed, the gas cap automatic door opener quit and I had to wench my door open with a screwdriver, the exhaust system was replaced again, the battery in my remote died and the gas light quit.
Within 20000 miles, again with the front end problems, the replacement of yet another set of tires and the brakes still squealed.
Here recently: the headlights both quit, the brake lights both quit, the transmission is slipping bad in 2nd, 3rd and reverse gears (it jerks badly when it shifts up), the motor quit in my driver's side window, the exhaust system has so many holes in it, it sounds like a performance race vehicle.
And don't expect the Saturn people to respond to any email or letters you send about the quality of the service at the departments. They say they will "open a discussion" and "let me know the results."
Anyone else have bad problems with their Saturn car?

| |  I've known three people who have owned a Saturn and all experienced problems similar to yours.
The Saturn was considered a nice care in the middle in price range. My babysitter got one and had trouble with the AC too, she also had trouble with fuses and her dash lights going out. It didn't matter how many times she brought it back to the dealership, the problem would come back (I personally think she put more milage on her loaner car then the Saturn).
My boys girlfriend also has a nice Saturn and when it started going to pot (she'd only had it for 1-1/2 years) she got another one too.
I noticed the price for one went way down and figured it was linked to the poor quality of the car. Too bad for Saturn, they usued to be a "good" name when buying a car.

| |  Girl, you had some bad luck. My sister in law has one and loves it. Did you take it to the dealer? Was it covered under warranty work?
I'd trade it in if I were you! It's sounding like a huge pain!

| |  I have to laugh about this, because I know where you're coming from. One of my husband's sisters has a Saturn and HATES it. She has had similar problems. Her biggest thing is the A/C won't work longer than a few days before quitting and the front end stays out of line.

| |  I have a 1993 Saturn. It is not the greatest car, but it was cheap and I haven't really had any problems with it. Well, for awhile it was leaking coolant, but I got that fixed. Overall I am happy with it even though the AC barely works! I have a friend who had a Saturn and she was always complaining about it. It eventually died and now she is stuck without a car at all, poor thing. I hope that doesn't happen to mine since I cannot afford to replace it! Good luck with your car :\

| |  ours has nearly 200,000 miles on it and it has been nearly trouble free.
we did have some trouble around 100000 but a tune up took care of it.
the only thing I did not like about the saturn we own is that there is no defrost outlet on the passenger side of the windshield... causing poor visability during fog ups.
