Have you ever gotten "up close and personal" with a favorite singer/actor?  

Not really close, but it is my lifelong dream to meet Kenny Rogers. I have loved him since childhood. He amazes me every time I hear him sing and I think I would pass out if I met him. So, Kenny or anyone that knows him, if you happen to be on mylot trying to make a few cents..LOL...PLEASE private message me and I will fly to the ends of the earth....Great topic...

I had a picture taken with John Schnieder when I was about 18. He put his arm around me and I thought I was going to DIE!! You can tell by looking at me that I am on could nine.
I also meet the wrestler 'The Ultimate Warrior'. I had a picture taken with him, and he put his had on my rear!LOL You should see the look on my face in that one!
I was flagging traffic one time and there was one car kinda behind the others and I decided to be nice and flag them on through. When the car passed, I was sorry for being nice! It was Travis Tritt!=o{

I used to pick up my fiance from her job as a hotel lifeguard at 1 am. One night, I decided to arrive a couple of minutes early (her boss didn't mind), and keep her company poolside. At 15 min before closing, the manager came down and asked if she'd be willing to stay 2 hrs overtime for overtime pay and she accepted. The manager, being nice, offered me some free food at the club downstairs since I was assisting with the cleaning anyway.

I went to the club and had some free "workers" food (cheeseburger, fries, and coke). Since there wasn't any tables available, I sat by the bar. Some guy sat next to me and we started to talk. I couldn't place who he was, but he sure did look familiar. We chatted for an hour and he was nice enough to buy a few drinks and send up some "good" food to my fiance. Eventually, I had to ask where I knew him from, and he said he'd traveled quite a bit, but found the question funny. Anyway, he said he was only in town for the weekend on business and he was flying out in a few hours so he had better be going. We parted and I thought nothing of the incident.

Since it was nearly three in the morning, I proceeded back to the pool area, and helped clean up. Well, my fiance had some stories...namely the reason why the pool was kept open was to accommodate VIPs. That nights VIPs were the Chipendales. She called the night very comical. It took us another hour to clean, shock, and straighten out the place.

I guess the time was about 0500 before we left for the night (morning?). My fiance asked how I liked the club, and how I was treated. So I relayed the events. Lo and behold, "Ken" was leaving and introduced himself to my fiance and began to leave. He then asked if I remembered where I remembered him, and I still couldn't. When the limo pulled up and took him to the airport, my faince asked how did I know Kenny "G"?

I never would have guessed...

Well my encounters with "famous" folk hasn't been as exciting as yours...LOL..but I have met a few --this was years and years ago..uh, Woodstock generation time here...so this goes back a bit..but I was at an Arlo Guthrie concert---at the end of it, a bunch of us fans decided to go to the backstage door area and wait to see if he'd come out to sign autographs...we waited a long time with nothing happening..he wasn't coming out..so at one moment when the door was kept opened, I made a mad dash inside, and ran right into him..uh, yup got his autograph....Then at a Shakespeare festival in Sratford Conn ( they didn't only do Shakespeare ) they were playing "The Devil's Decsiple" and it had David Selby of the old soap opera "dark shadows" fame..plus Sir Cyril Richard, Margaret Hamilton (the wicked witch of the west in Wizard of Oz) and James Cromwell--same thing..a bunch of us fans were able to duck into backstage and met them all and got autographs--and on the way home on the bus to NY, who was on the bus with us--Margaret Hamilton! I've also met Luciano Pavarotti at a book signing, had done an interview for my high school paper with the cast of the then very popular Broadway musical Jesus Christ Superstar so got to know the entire cast--met Gloria Vanderbilt at a promo for her clothes line at Macy's--uh, yeah,,met a few people...now if I could only meet Viggo Mortensen!! LOL

OK I can. While in college, I got to meet Ossie Davis and his wife Ruby Dee, who are to me the African Americans of Screen and Stage. They came and spoke at a banquet and were very nice people. I even took pictures with them and all. I was truly sorry to hear of Mr Davis' passing two years ago. We have truly lost a heck of an actor. Then in Korea, I was in the BX(base exchange), and there, I was just shopping and got to meet Randy Travis. Real nice fella too. I told him that though I am not a big CW fan, I did enjoy his song, "Forever and Ever Amen" He was with a group of folks and just came up and spoke. now, here I am African American, but as far as I'm concerned, I was impressed. While at a concert I was working year before last, Gretchen Wilson, and some others, I got to see Cowboy Troy up close and personal. that impressed me because you don't see a lot of us in that arena but he has my vote and I catch his blogs through MySpace. (have a nice crush too but he's married); While in Korea, I got to meet the Dallas Cheerleaders. I was in the bathroom, it was Christmas, I wasn't feeling 100% but them ladies sure lifted my spirits there. I know they were there for the men, but they sent some love my way too. I will never forget that. While campaigning, I have seen President Bush Sr(let's just say we shared the same air)afar off. I believe the best one I have is when I was in Saudi Arabia in 1993; and the buzz around the base was that Colin Powell who was then Joint Chief of Staff and about to retire was coming our way. Now back then, he was rising but he was coming to a small building no bigger than a regular classroom and you had hundreds who just wanted to be there; well, I was in that number. he gave a briefing and we were just glad we got to be there.

back in the early 70's I worked at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky Ohio. I worked as security and drove to the airport to pick up celebreties. One weekend I had to go to Dayton to [ick up 2 stars that were there for a commercial shoot. the stars wer Florence henderson and Maureen McCormick. Thats Mrs Brady and Marcia Brady from , yes, the Brady Bunch. I was 18 at the time and Maureen was 16 I think Maybe 15. But close either way. I fell in love with her. Anyhow after the commericial was shot I had to escort them back to Dayton. On the way Maureen asked if the gaurds could mingle with the stars. I said yes as she was my job until back on the plane. Long story short we had dinner and talked for 2 hours. She was a hell of an intelligent and beautiful young lady. Florence was okay also. But I tended to ignore her. Hahaha.

Yes, actually i have gotten "up close and personal" with my favorite singer. In fact, my entire favorite band. i am personal friend with them...but it didn't start out like that. i was a fan of theirs before we were ever friends. They were my favorite band pretty much from the time i heard them...and we finally got to meet one day...and we are now friends. i even e-mail back and forth with the drummer, Adam. In case you can't tell from my avvy, my favorite band is AFI. All of you should give them a listen.

i am a great hard rock fan and i once had a great night out and a thin lizzy concert. I will remember getting to meet the late great Philip Paris Lynot, a true genius and whats more a gentleman

When I was a kid I tried out for some audition and Irene Cara from Fame was there at the auditions. Also when I was a kid my mom worked at the Arena Stage in DC as a hair and make-up stylist. One of the actors there was Yardley Smith, voice of Lisa Simpson. My sister and I used to spend alot of time at the theatre and were in a couple of the plays. Also from the Arena Stage we met a girl that was in Moscow on the Hudson with Robin Williams. She played his girlfriend back in Russia and had a very steamy scene with him in the movie.

I met Chris Martin from Coldplay at a bar in Buenos Aires a couple of months ago, when he was on tour with his band.
My friends and I had been at the bar for hours and had no idea he was there. It was so dark we could barely see. We got to talking with the owner of the band who told us Chris Martin was there and we were like "ya, right". Just in case though, we started walking around to see if he was there and sure enough, there he was, drinking a beer with friends.
We approached him and he very graciously accepted to have a picture taken with us. He is very good looking and way taller than I pictured him!
