Can you recommend a good play kitchen?

My friend, since my only daughter is going to be 30 in a few months...they have made vast improvements in the kitchens offered now-a-days.....LOL

I have 2 granddaughters, though, one is 7(the other just turned 1), she had one of the Little Tikes kitchens...she liked it...and we did not have any problems with it....Now she has graduated to the Easy-Bake Ovens...

Ours is the Little Tikes Victorian kitchen and I love it. Bought it secondhand at a flea market, but have never had any issues with the doors staying closed. And all the openings (stove, dishwasher, cabinets, etc.) are plenty large enough for my daughter to hide things in (sippy cups, mostly), which she just LOVES. It's a little on the large side, but I love it - at least I know she won't be outgrowing it for a while.

I bought a huge set of play food online at Target.com for about $10, and pots/pan/dishes for $10 at Wal-Mart. Everything she needs!:)

My daughter LOVES her Little Tykes kitchen. Actually my son plays with it too. We've never had any problems with doors not staying open, etc. Of course, they love the wood play kitchens too- the one that Potterynbarn Kids sells is a favorite every time we go to that store! My kids also have the Dora Talking Kitchen. At first I was against getting something so "commercialized" (and especially since we alraedy had a kitchen set), but my kids love it-it says a few phrases and the food that comes with it is pretty cute.

Oh the memories that brings back- My daughter loved her kitchen and all of her pots/pans ands fake food- I’m telling you- Do you have the grocery cart with the boxes of fake food? I think it might be like $10 or so- It was my daughter’s favorite toy- She is 10 now. You got to get that too if you don’t have it already- I haven’t shopped for any of these in so long- I am pretty sure I went Fisher Price with most of the stuff- Little Tykes is a great name too- Both name brand and sturdy- I’m sure whichever you pick she will love- and have endless hours of fun! Oh those were the days!

fluffyfrog, my daughter just turned 21 and her Little Tikes kitchen is still being used in our home by children that my wife sits for. We hope to have it for our granddaughter. Point being, I suggest Little Tikes, no matter what the style. Good luck, and enjoy your "meals".

my daughter didn't have a kitchen but she does have a mcdonald's drive through stand. it's kind of like the kitchen. it's got a deepfryer, a grill a coke machine and ice cream machine. then it's got the cash register and cupbourts to store the mcdonald's food. the also had a visor and headsets. it's so cute and she loves it. her favorite restaurant is mcdonald's. she got it at 2 years old and she is almost 4 and still loves playing with it.

LOL WOW thats goin back a couple yrs...I THINK my daughter had a Little Tikes but it might have been Fisher Price...I'm pretty sure it was an L.T though....didnt have tons of stuff on it but being a tot she didnt need tht much stuff cause her imagination was the key ya know...She loved that damn thing too come to think of it LOL

Honestly, I bought my daughter one of the off brand kitchens from wal-mart for Christmas one year and she absolutely loved it! She still plays with it, and actually my youngest little man also likes to play with it, so we have definitely gotten our use out of it. I think one of these days it will finally fall apart, but it has been over 4 years at this point and it is still going strong. I am sorry I can't remember what brand it was, but it was actually fairly cheap, too.
