Has your child ever talked down to you?

I am talking about those children that are in the mid to late 20's and older. Mine has always acted this way since she was a teenager. She always heard her father do this to me and he incouraged it. We are now divorced but she continues to do it even though she hates to be treated this way by others and I have told her that I do not appreciate it. We actually had a major split for over six months when she did this three years ago. She is in corrections and deals with revolving door clients, the ones that keep coming back again.
How do you deal with it and how does it make you feel?

I feel sorry for you. As a mother myself with a teenage son I am also being constantly hurt by my son's behaviour but he is sane enough to ask for forgiveness later on. Your daughter might have harboured hurt feelings from unhappy surroundings during her growing up stage. As she grow up external forces are exerting a greater influence on her. The only way out is to find a spiritual mentor to guide her.

As I feel! She can be so sweet alot of the time and then she pulls that stunt that hurts the deepest.

Oh my dear i feel for you mine are all grown but i do know what you are talking about my oldest son has a bad habit of that,we have gone as long as 3 years with out talking or seeing each other we wil get back on good terms and low and behold he starts this crap again,and yes it hurts your feeling and i hve finally told him,if cant respect me as your mother then i dnt want you in my life at all.I know that sound mean but i refuse to be disrespected by my grown chilren.

I find that I just have to turn my back and wait till she comes around. I refuse to take it and I have walked out of her place telling her to forget about me, I can't deal with it anymore. That seems to hurt her and sometimes that is what it takes. She will never say she is sorry.
