I Just Want To Scream---More Lousy News --The SSI Fiasco  

I has to get worked out. The bureaucratic system sucks, everyone knows that. It's kind of like their job to screw up your life and make you scared you will lose your place to live and have no food to eat. They could care less. My prayers are with you my friend.

Ok - well I'm not really going to be any help gere because I don't really know anything about SSI, Medicaid or Food Stamps. The benefit Systems are obviously different in the UK, so I can't begin to understand it. However, as your friend, I just wanted to say that I am sorry you're having such problems and I hope you can get things sorted soon. Over here, I would advise you contact the Citizens' Advice Bureau to help you (free aid and advice to anyone with problems relating to benefits or anything else come to that), or perhaps seek Legal advice through Legal Aid, which is free here to the unemployed. But as that may not be at all relavant for you, - I will just say - please accept a virtual hug from across the Atlantic, and take care.

Well Sweetheart I am not surprised you are fed up well and truly and do you know what they sound just like they are over here
They don't care
They mess everything up and you suffer the Consequences I have been there last year and beginning of this Year

Ohhh Pyewacket, I'm so so sorry these eejits are making life so difficult for you right now. It's par for the course as far as benefits and welfare go though.

Sorry to hear that you are having this many problems. It's a shame that the government agencies that were built to help, are giving the people that truely need this extra help such a bad time about it.

My grandma went through the same stuff while trying to apply for disability, all the while her health was really declining because she didn't have the money nor the aide she needed to continue getting treatments for her breathing problems. She finally had to get a lawyer to hurry the process along before her condition worsened to the point where it wasn't reversible.

I understand why the process is done, because the system has been abused in the past, but like you said all paperwork needs to be sent all at once, instead of just popping up with another paper you supposedly sign, date, and what have you.

As for the IRS (tax collectors), well I never really thought those people paid all that much attention to detail, unless it was taking money from hard working individuals. Or ceasing people's property if a certain amount in taxes wasn't paid after taxes had been done.

Something needs to be done to redo these agencies and get them more organized and hire people that actually do understand people's situations and try to work with them, instead of thrusting piles of paperwork at them.

Sorry to hear about all that is going on with That.But don't feel Bad I had my ssi hearing like three weeks ago and today I get a Letter telling me the Judge wants me to go to another Doctor? They have been Told by four Doctors that I'am Disabled...HELLO..And they were the Doctors they sent me to plus my Doctors told the I can no longer Work..I just don't get the System anymore I worked now Im disabled and they don't wanna help me...GRRRR

Oh it can be a real paperchase. When my mother was still alive, I took care of her money because whe had Alzheimers. Se lived in her house with a nurse but I paid the bills and put her social security checks in a bank account in both of our names. When she passed away, the bank said I had to have a death certicficate to remove her from the accounT. While I was getting that together, the bank reported the money that I had in the account and the state told me I owed them tax on MY money. It finally got straightened out but 2 years later I learned that the bank reported to the credit bureau that I had passed away and it was verified with my mother's death certificate. I'm still trying to convince those jerks that I'm not dead yet! Actually, a part of me thinks I should have a real field day charging things up. What can happen? I'm dead so who can take me to court? Right?

Sometimes its good to just scream. And it feel so good when your done. I know you must be going crazy trying to deal with these idiots. Just try to have some patience and I will indeed keep the prayers going for you my friend.

I can't blame you for being upset having to go through this much run around. If this is the system designed to help those in need, it is no wonder the government is one big screwed up mess. It looks like the left hand has no idea what the right one is doing. You have to wonder if it is the system or the people trying to execute it. I hate dealing with the government for anything. Nothing ever goes smooth or it takes several attempts to get things worked out.
