what do you think about daniel radcliffe in equus?

I think that part of growing as an actor is to accept challenging roles. Once the Harry Potter movies end, the actors who appear in them shouldn't be pigeon-holed into a specific type of role. This has been the downfall of many child actors.

I feel that if he accepts a role which shows his versatility as an actor, that it's awesome for him. After the end of the Potter movies, I would love to see him in other roles. If he doesn't take on challenging or controversial roles now, he will only set himself up to never be anything BUT Harry Potter.

Clearly, Radcliffe is a very talented young actor. He deserves the chance to continue working long after the last Potter film is made. He didn't accept the role in Equus to rattle cages, but to give himself options in the future and to prove that he CAN be something other than the beloved Harry. And it does take courage to act in the nude, as he is doing in the Equus role. I say kudos to him.

As for the younger fans, Equus is not really a play which should be for younger audiences. I feel that it doesn't make him any less of a role model for younger people. As long as the younger audience isn't viewing him in a more mature role, such as the Equus one, it is perfectly fine for him to do it. When he signed up as Harry Potter, he didn't sign up to be Harry Potter for life, though that will most likely be his most memorable role, at least in the minds of people who grew up watching him play Harry.

I was watching the Fox News Channel's Fox and Friends morning show this morning. I watched it because Julie Andrews was set to appear on there. During her segment, one of the interviewers mentioned her role in S.O.B., where she appeared topless. This was not a movie or moment that defined her career, nor was it damaging for her as a role model. Her work in The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins didn't become overshadowed by her toplessness, and both movies are still loved by children and adults alike. I haven't seen one parent tell their child that they couldn't watch either of these movies because Julie Andrews was topless in a movie.

I feel that this will be the same for Daniel Radcliffe. The Equus role is just a role and shouldn't negatively affect his career or make him unsuitable for young fans.

I didn't know that he played in another movie. This sounds interesting.

I am proud that he is doing new things, So is Rupert Grint who was in the movie Driving Lessons. It was very good. I have not seen the play Danie is in but I heard it was very good and has grown into a great actor. I think he picked this because it was so different from Harry Potter and I think that is what he needed. He needed to show he can do more then just one type of movie and he heas shown that. I feel from what I do know of the Play it's so different from anything he has done before that he is showing a lot of actors out there what is really made of and I hope to see more from him and the others from Harry Potter.

Daniel should be more careful in choosing roles, projects and movies. He should also be aware of what happened to most child actors who have chosen wrong roles, one of which is the original actor of Home Alone.

I honestly don't see the big deal about it. He's an ACTOR, and he can't spend the rest of his life playing Harry Potter. He has to be able to move on to more adult roles, either on stage or screen. Equus is an adult drama, and it's not something that his HP audience of children should be seeing, so one should not impact the other, in my opinion.

A good actor needs to play differrnt roles in different movies, so i understand his action.Harry potter can't be his only role in his career.So i back up him in this event.

We are so used to seeing Daniel playin HP..dat v connect him with the guy we read abt in books...but unfortunately its not the reality...Daniel is not HP..and perhaps can never be..he's a diff individual..and I think he should take more roles..otherwise his career would end with HP.
