2. oldbuddy (5748) | 3 years ago | I do web design and hosting from home and could grow it even further if I wanted to, but since I'm retired I am much more interested in building walk-away residual income .

djmarion (3292) | 3 years ago | hello oldbuddy, how do you build walk-away residual income?
| |
|
|
oldbuddy (5748) | 3 years ago | By getting lots of referrals who do the work for both of you. If you get enough of them, they can far surpass what you could ever do alone.
| |
|
|
oldbuddy (5748) | 3 years ago | You know, I actually did join it years ago, but it dropped a few months later when it didn't work like all the other shopping deals online.

4. explorations (1520) | 3 years ago | Freelance writing, web design, selling items on ebay, selling books on amazon, selling art, opening a cafepress.com shop . . . there's a lot of opportunity if you're able to invest the time into learning the ropes.
| |
| |
|
|
| royaltyuniverse (29) | 3 years ago | explorations,
any particular opportunity that you have personal experience with? The reason I am asking is because many people make the same suggestion, however no one actually shares details.
| |
|
|
explorations (1520) | 3 years ago | Oh yes, I can certainly share my experiences with you. I'm so sorry for being so vague in my last response! Here's a breakdown:
(1) Freelance writing: this one brings in the most income for me and, by far, requires the most time and effort. Here are some sites I frequent for job opportunities:
http://www.writersweekly.com http://www.fundsforwriters.com http://www.absolutewrite.com (the forums has a paying market section and there's also a markets newsletter worth subscribing to) http://www.writingfordollars.com http://www.freelancewriting.com http://www.journalismjobs.com http://www.mediabistro.com http://www.poewar.com http://www.sunoasis.com
There's a wealth of material on the majority of these sites explaining how to get your writing career started, how to perfect the art of querying and how to handle the level of rejection that's typically experienced.
(2) Selling books on Amazon.com: this is the next biggest money maker for me. I sell books in an Amazon Used Bookstore that are donated to me by friends and family. When I'm consistent, I earn about $250.00 per month doing this.
(3) Selling art online: this one is a challenge because I'd like to find a site where sales are consistent. Right now, the majority of my sales are from myspace and livejournal - about once or twice a month.
(4) Selling books on lulu.com: I have a project where I'm publishing pages from my art journals on a monthly basis. Because I've been having trouble with creative block, I've only completed two books so far and am nearly finished the third. I see between two and three sales per month because I'm still learning how to perfect the promotional side of this effort.
Another suggestion: my mother opened an ebay store and sells what you'd typically find at a flea market and she brings in between $500.00 and $1,000.00 per week. She buys things at auctions, finds things on the side of the road, has people donating items to her and buys things at garage sales. Her investment into her business runs between!0 and 15% of her income, which is relatively low with all things considered.
I hope this helped!

6. syndibee (438) | 3 years ago | i find that alot of people want to work at home, but they don't want to expound on their own talents. what can you offer the job market from your own home. i have heard of doing customer service and phone sales reps working at home but have no experience with it because you need to have a landline and i don't, i only have my cell phone. i personally sell cloth diapers that i make, i can make alot more than i do but right now if i don't re-invest my money into fabrics i can bring home $500/month easily. i know that doesn't seem much but i'm only willing to devote myself part time to it. find what you are willing to do then research doing it at home.

8. terri0824 (3510) | 3 years ago | I was in the middle of building my own on-line shopping mall when I came across this free to join mall with over 1000+ stores on it. Why not earn money on your every day needs? I've tried surveys, read e-mail and click to earn. But that wasn't very profitable. Own your own mall for free. Great to refer to others for fundraisers as well. Check it out by clicking on my profile and click on My Power Mall.
Best Wishes
