Do you think it's a good idea to post pictures of your children on internet sites that can be viewed by anyone? I find it a bit worrying, is that just because I'm old fashioned?

I don't think it's good or bad, if you put a picture but no other information, so no-one really knows where the pic came from that's alright I suppose, but I wouldn't put a pic and the childs details.

I certainly think it's a bad idea, I won't post a proper picture of my son on the internet, the only pictures I've put on of him are ones where his face can't be seen and the rest of him's fairly hidden too. I also never use his real name on anything. The trouble is there are a lot of freaks out there who like to see photos of children, and I really mean freaks, they don't look at the children in the same way normal people do. That's why I certainly don't think that anyone should post pictures of children anywhere on the internet.

I won't put pictures of my kids just anywhere. I'll put them on my blog where only people I allow can go there. And I don;t put their names or anything. But I don't think they should be put anywhere else.

I would not post pics of my children. there are too many people out there who would look at the pic in a way i would not want them looking at it. It is a sad thing but true.

I think you're right, whether people put details or not it's still giving the opportunity for the child to be looked at in the wrong way.

I think pictures with a childs details are a bad thing. I have seen several family websites where the kids have been encouraged to have their own pages. While, of course, it meant nothing to me and I thought it was rather cute (and enjoyed reading about their life and achievements), I thought it was a little naive of the parents to allow it. As far as I recall, it wouldn't have been easily possible to contact the child in the ones I saw, but I still thought it a little dangerous.
