Pokemon DS and Earthbound Music

I for one have always felt there was a vague similarity between the Pokemon series and the Earthbound series in that random NPCs were totally insane. Of course, they weren't as insane as in Earthbound, and while these are two vastly different games, the sentiment is slightly there at least.

In Pokemon DS, in Team Galactic's Headquarters Laboratory, does the music remind anyone else of being in a cave in Earthbound a tiny bit? I think the music plays with a similar mood for theme and the instrument sounds similar to what I remember.
