disney movies cost a fortune

i wouldn't buy a movie spending $100
Everytime i watch them online.
i like disney movies very much
They are pretty good.

I'm betting someone beat me to the answer, but I don't see them before I reply when I click through from email notifications...

Disney only releases their movies every so often, keeping them "locked in the Disney vault" in between. It can be years between releases, so if you want a particular movie, your only real option is to buy online - and sellers will get however much they can,*because* they can. I HATE that they do that. I'm looking for Beauty & the Beast and it seems to be going for around $30 on eBay. Granted, not as bad as $100, but I still have problems with paying $30 plus shipping for ONE DVD. Blah.

Yep, its because of the Disney Vault marketing scam. Like the post above me said!
Ugh, I think it's so ridiculous and I don't play that game. I'll do without before I spend $100 because they "lock away the movies" It just irritates me, lol!

Is it really that price? that's ridiculous, I'm sure you can get them cheaper elsewhere..wow, hadn't realised they cost so much more than buying a newly released one like Happy Feet - I suppose that is Disney for ya!

It's crazy how expensive they are. We just buy them when they come out. I hate buying them on Ebay because so many of them are bootlegs, and you don't know it until they arrive at your house.

We don't buy most of the Princess ones, though.:) But my son LOVES Cars and Lady and the Tramp. We have several others, too. I hate to even pay the $20-25 that it costs to buy one new at Walmart, though.

We bought Dumbo on Ebay, but it was a bootleg. Ugh. We even paid $18 for it, and they said it wasn't, but of course it was, so that was a wasted $18.

My guess is the price is so high because they are the videos that have been put away in the vault, and no one knows if they will ever release them again. I think all DVD's are expensive as it is for one little CD, so I definitely wouldnt pay that much for something like that, but there are some people that would I am sure. Those that are die hard Disney fans or maybe those with that extra money to blow on it.

Oh my god- I would never pay that- What was it- the dvd in gold? I can’t imagine it being $100- I love e-bay.. you can always find a great deal there- Where did you go the first time for so much? Maybe it was an original or something? I used to buy the Disney movies for my daughter- we had a whole collection- she hadn’t watched them in so long and decided to sell them at the yard sale last year- I stopped buying them now- she is 10 though.

It is very strange to see that a dvd movie cost more then 10 bucks. And this movies are quite old so they would cost less. Could you please post the link to the page where you saw it? I really would like to see what else was in the package. Or the name of the website.

You will have to search through the list of movies, they have all of the disney movies, most of them at really low prices. The hard to find ones are still cheaper than what you would find on Ebay. I was able to get Aladdin at a really good price, especially for a movie that went back into the vault. So before heading to Ebay, check out overstock.com

You will be shocked at all the movies you will find. I have a lot of catching up to do myself.
