| | For the moment, no, my daughter doesn't watch DVDs in the car - she amuses herself by watching things go by as we drive along, or she goes to sleep. We may put a DVD player in the car when she's a little older but i don't think she needs one just for the moment coz the outside world is far more fascinating to her! | | | | | | |

| | My three always used to fall asleep in the car when they were younger...and sometimes they still will, as teens. | | | |

| | My son just got his carseat turned around to forward facing recently, so he's still really excited about actually seeing what is going on. He doesn't really need much extra entertainment unless we are going to be in the car for more than a couple of hours. And then he usually just plays with his toys and has a snack, or at least a drink. | | | | | | |

| | We use it for long trips, like hours and hours. We just put some veggie tales in there ;) He doesn't need it all the time, but sometimes we are travelling in areas where you can't pull over for a break-like winding mountains with no shoulder. He usually has a bucket of car safe toys (ones that can't break a window lol) to manipulate too. | | | | | | |

| | We don't have a travel dvd so my kids take handheld games, drawing boards, walkmans, little play cars, dolls, whatever they decided they would like to take and then we also point things out on the way like horses and cows and talk about things to make the drive a little less boring. | | | | | | |

| | My oldest loves his dvd player that's in our van, his little brother will prob. like it as well once he's old enough to be forward facing. He loves to watch movies like cars, shreck, curious george and he also likes when we rent dvd's like Dora the Explorer or Diego. | | | | | | |

| | Some children do sleep a lot in the car, but others would rather not, as they are afraid they might miss something. :) | | | |

| | I only turn on a DVD in the van if we're on a very long trip and it's nowhere even remotely near her naptime. Otherwise, we play games (mostly versions of "I Spy") and sing songs to pass the time. I always feel horrible turning on a DVD for her rather than interacting...but man, sometimes it's hard to stay "on" while you're driving for a while. | | | | | | |

| | We actually have 2 dvd players we bring in the car. One is for the 6 yr old and she usually will watch care bears, high school musical, cat in the hat, and movies like that. The other is for the older boys. They bring their own movies~ usually horror type. We also play 20 questions, ABC names, finding ABC on liscense plates and many games like that. | | | | | | |

| | I usually have books in the car for my daughter. We have the educational workbooks for her as well. She watches enough tv at home. I try to encourage her to do other things while out. | | | | | | |

| | Some people get carsick if they are reading in a moving vehicle, though, which makes books out of the question. Glad it works for your daughter, though. | | | |
