Do you think Blake Lewis got a fair shot?  

I think he actually picked the song. Although I am a Jordin fan, I do think the judges kind of led the people to vote for Jordin, by repeating that it was a singing competition and that Blake entertained.

I agree the song was more a Jordin type song and that Blake was a better entertainer but like Simon said it is a singing competition and Jordin sang better. She knocked the song out of the park. I personally think Melinda was much better than both Blake and Jordin put together. If the judges picked the winner and not a fickle audience of teenie boppers then maybe Melinda who had the most talent would have won.

I think they both had a good shot at winning. I think Blake will go far as he is an entertainer. Jordin will put out good music as well as do good.

I thought Jordin would win, but I was starting to doubt it when I tried to vote for her and got through everytime.

I liked the song this is my now. The first night I thought oh it was ok, but it grew on me and I really liked it last night.

though I love to hear people sing..It has to be totally rigged! The producers tell the three judges who they want them to endorse. Chris Daughtery sold more albums than all last year idol contestants combined and came in 4th?! I like Jordin I also like Blake and now we will see who sells the most now since it is over!

I tend to believe that they have their own favorites, and that they can choose a song that would benefit one over the other. Maybe he will do like Kathryn McPhee of last year, and become a star anyway. He made it to the finals, that shows that he's got what America wants.

I have to agree with your statement that "This Is My Now" was not a great song for the style of music that Blake sings. If they had allowed him to play with the composition (the way he'd been doing all season) I definitely think he would have had a better chance.

Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of Jordin's as well; I just think that if they both had been allowed to sing it in their respective styles it would have been a much more interesting finale.

I agree that last song they both sung didn't fit him at all. Although I like Blake I like Jordon a little better .

My mom called me right after the show and we had talked about this fact that the song catered more toward Jordin. Just wasn't Blake's cup of tea at all.

My mom was disappointed that Blake didn't win, but I explained to her that he will still have a successful career. I said, "He doesn't look very disappointed." She says, "Yeah, but I wanted him to win. Jordin has a wonderful voice, but sounds like everyone else." I said, "Well, Blake is probably glad he doesn't have to sing that song." He he he

In the sense that he could choose two of the last three songs, he could have done better. The song they both had to sing was a Jourdin type song. They did the same thing last year, choosing for the required song a song that was not very adaptable.
